Basically it's almost the same as what it was like in previous GT games. Having a used car list can give us benefits in three ways;
1~ It can give us more of a choice when buying a car, kind of like would I rather have a brand new skyline in perfect condition for full price, or the same model with a few miles and a lower price tag?
2~ Fixing up cars is fun, especially when you finally feel a surge of accomplishment when you realize that you just bought a turd, and turned it into a really nice turd.
3~ You and two of your other friends can go but a car from the used car dealership and have missions with them like the boys at Top Gear does!
If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to express them.

Man, see if they REALLY wanted to do something cool... what they could do is bring back the Used Car Dealership, but instead of having a standard cycle of cars it goes through - and even better than having some cars randomly pop up with aftermarket parts/paint - is to have the cars for sale be the ones that people who play online, connected to the internet are actually wanting to sell. They could either have it to where seller sets the price, or I think I'd actually prefer if the game determines the price depending on make/model/rarity/mileage/parts installed/etc, that way you don't just get a bunch of random cars out there with random numbers that will never sell. And I think it should still have the current selling option as well, to become a sort of "quick sell" option if for some reason you do actually just want/need the money immediately. So... say I go to sell my Skyline, the game will calculate how much it's worth, then ask me if that amount's ok much like it already does. I then choose to either sell it immediately, or put it on the market. Then when another user goes to the Used Car Dealership, they will be able to see any aftermarket parts/rims/paint/etc installed, as well as the mileage of course and if it's had any oil changes/body restorations, and buy it if they like the deal.

I'm not personally the type to utilize the former UCD the way it was, I wanted brand new cars with zero mileage. But if they did something like this, I think it'd be more fun I guess just because it has a little more "realness" to it than just a list of cars that cycles every two weeks or whatever it was. This would also allow you to buy a friend's car that maybe you've always really liked, if he's willing to sell of course, without the hassle of straight up copying his parts and set up. (With that in mind, maybe you should be able to sell directly to specific players, as to not have to put it on the open market in such cases)

Thoughts?

Why not both?
*mexican music starts playing*

No, but I'm serious, I absolutely love this idea, and it would be cool if there were two dealerships like in GT4, but have it with, one of the dealerships does the random cycle of cars from the game, like GT4 (definetly not the GT5 dealership), and another dealership that sells cars that the GT community put for sale.
And for how people could sell their car, instead of the game giving a price you have to stick with, it can give you a recommended price to sell it for, but you can change it to whatever you want, but to make sure the dealership isn't always cluttered with cars, have it to where after a week, your car will be removed from the dealership and given back to the seller.

I like your expansions to the idea! Yeah the game can give you a fair price on what the car is worth, sort of like a KBB value, but you can adjust it if you want. The part I really like is the idea to have the game take cars off the market after a set period of time, so it doesn't get cluttered with useless postings of Fiat 500s for 13,000,000 cr or what have you. Or maybe you can set your price within a reasonable range, like say within 50,000 cr. Which is a lot in the real world, but in game currency is no big deal. That way if you see a car you really like, you'd likely be willing to spend way over value (buying a Peugeot 206 for 75,000 cr instead of 25,000 would be pretty crazy in real life, but not in the game) but not to the point where it's just a silly number of credits.

What they COULD do (haha), is to have an auction system as well. Low but fair starting price, and then let the people bid. I don't particularly love the idea, but auctions happen all the time in real life, some people may love to see what they can dig up in an auction.

I used to love the usedcars dealership! If they make all cars premium in GT7 PD can add some rust or mud on the used cars so we can THEN really use the wash car option in GTauto... This gets my vote! 👍

I feel offline, no car should have "0miles/kms" if it's Used. For online, if someone buys anything 2015(or when ever GT7 drops) and chooses to sell it stock or customised or painted, thwn it could sell with "0miles/kms".

Cars earlier than GT7 release year with a cut off year 2013, should be classified as Used. If GT7 releases this November, a 2014 Stingray, Nismo R35 and M4 could possibly have "0miles/kms" as old stock. Just to keep things simple, those 2013/2014 cars should have either "1km/.62mile" or "1mile/1.6km".

Im sure there could be vintage cars, museum pieces, that havent turned a wheel ever. May have been rolled around on trolleys. But a 1962 Ferrari GTO shouldnt have "0" on the odometer. Especially the Le Mans cars.

Another thing id like to see, is panel damage when buying/selling a car online. Wouldn't a Pontiac GTO lowered with unique dents and dings with matte paint, be a great find? Or someone just starts the game and looks in the Used car section to find a brown '78 Firebird Trans Am with louvers, upgraded brakes and racing exhaust, yet, has never been raced, only cruised? How do you know it hasnt been raced? Check vehicle history. Should show: number of races entered; number of times repaired.

Plus, incorporate the wheels with the price. If aftermarket wheels are fitted to a car, the seller should have the option to offer the stock wheels or not. If the stock wheels are included, the buyer doesn't have to go to GT Auto to purchase the stock wheels.

I agree.

What about fixing the cars manually? Even if very cheap (maybe it's a racer's insurance or something), but you fix it manually, and select what you want to fix, don't need to be every single detail of the car, just a few, like Engine, Suspension, Chassis, Turbo, Body. And having a/some difference between damage from crashes and wear. And if you don't fix it, it's staying that way, so you could find that GTO you mentioned.

What about the option to sell the stock wheels, and if you did so, you will sell it with just the ones it got. You should have an inventory of pieces, I don't know how it would work for most stuff, but let's say the wheels: You buy a new wheel, but you still got the original, unles you sell it. Any aftermarket wheel has it's size, and if not in use, you can install it in any car in which it fits.

It's all doable. Remeber GT4? We could buy any wheel and fit to any car. If there were a set of vintage wheels from any of the 20mil Cr. LeMans cars for sale, that would be a find. Or a set of 5-spoke Volk/Rays wheels from the Nismo 350Z, That's cool too.

Buying and selling cars on an online dealership would be awesome. If they came with tunes that would be even better.this would really help you bond with the cars and make more use of the oil changes, engine rebuilds etc. Race win stats are stored on cars, so you could charge more for cars that win a lot.
