Using G25 over long distance

I am thinking about making a more permanent setup with my G25 in my other room.

My PS3 is in the living room where id like it to stay, and then connect it to the other TV in the bed room so i can use it with both TV's

I tested the PS 3 sixaxix Controllers and they work perfectly.

But i am not sure about the G25. I read somewhere that USB cables more than 5 meters is not good.

But have anyone tryed it ?

There are some USB cables with build in amplifier, could i use one of those ?
