I ordered a package just before February and i have not had any update on the USPS tracking site since the 4th

Is there anyway for me to email USPS to find out what is happening, spoke to our local post office and they said it has not entered the country.

All the contact us email form leads to is for things that do not relate to tracking.

It's in a container on a boat somewhere. It won't get scanned again until the boat arrives and the container is opened.

The container might not even be on a boat. It might be in a giant stack in a port somewhere. Hopefully (for you) the port is in Australia, not Los Angeles. :)

Ive had some stuff from the US take upto six weeks to get here. It depends on the type of postage used. If it is priority it should be here within a couple of weeks but if its been sent regular post it could be over a month to get here.

For what it's worth (probably not much) I ordered a package from Great Britain on Jan 1st and received it on Jan 19th. Given that your package is traveling a lot farther, I'd say just be patient.

I think wfooshee may be right, except I don't think the USPS do surface shipping anymore? I could be wrong, but I thought U.S. Mail shipping was now by air, like Priority Mail.

I had a toy car stuck at Hong Kong customs or something one time. After something like a month, thru eBay, I got my money back. Few weeks go by, the car actually shows up. I messaged the eBay seller, asking them to send me a PayPal invoice so I can make the payment, but they never responded. :odd:

As far as contacting USPS, I get the feeling they'll just tell you to hang tight.

It is highly likely that the tracking wont get updated again - the barcode will not be in the database of AusPost or whatever courier gets it. It will just appear on your doorstep one day.

That is what I am thinking.
Since it has not been updated for a working week thinking it is somewhere in australia.

Just for the record, my eBay toy car from China to the U.S., tracking did start working again many weeks later.

I purchased an item two items from the States recently. The first one I bought on the 16th hasn't arrived, whilst the other I purchased on the 18th arrived two days prior. So to put it this way, its all about patience...

Edit: the first item arrived on Monday :)

The item came the other day.

Now I have to wait for my car return to install it.

I was told some time ago that surface mail from US to Australia had been discontinued. There is no longer the "slow" option.

Let me correct that, there is only the slow option, however it always goes via air and is more expensive.
