V-SPEC R34 @ Grand Valley!

TORC_PH
OK team mates....here's another race to sink your teeth into.

Buy yourself a fresh Nissan GT-R V-Spec II (R34), give it an oil change, add sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Grand Valley race (3 laps) in the Race of Turbo Sports, Amateur League.

This should (initially anyway) give you a good challenge against the A.I. Run it clean people..2 wheels, no walls and no contact with the A.I. that gives you an advantage allowed. If your racing line or theirs changes start the race again :D

Gotta fly for now...have fun with it, Cheers ;)

LEADERBOARD:
Made in Holland - 6:08.568
Prancing Horse - 6:10.043
Lotus 350 - 6:12.372

OK...here's a race I saved back in October (man time flys!) when I first started playing around with these races...I will make some fresh attempts at it when I can find the time but at least it gives you all something to beat!

Lap 1 30.314 1:09.868 1:30.938 2:11.703
Lap 2 21.899 1:01.093 1:22.482 2:03.060
Lap 3 21.896 1:00.430 1:20.953 2:01.179

Total Race Time - 6:15.942.

Heaps of time to be sliced from this, cheers ;)

Here's the replay for all you PAL users :burnout:

Edit - Woo Hoo!! 100 posts...thats a milestone for me!

AO

Crikey!!! it's hard to do it without any AI contact :( I got a 6'15.7 but had a scrape of the stupid Beetle at the last S on lap 1

I'll get one clean though !!

Hitting 2'01.0 on lap 2/3 and low 2'11 lap 1's but not a clean lap 1 yet

It is a nice drive though and GV is one of my fav tracks  good little challenge .

Glad to see people enjoying this race, nice run already there Kelly good job. As to the HP guys, I'm not sure myself as I haven't run my car in yet..still have about 150Km's to go before it peaks...it is over 340 odd at the moment from memory. Will get back to you later on that one. Cheers ;)

...as i have 2 R34's that have different Hp, one at 337 and the other at around the 348 mark
just wanted to be sure

Ok I thought at first absolutely no contact  managed a race then whist dinner was burning in the kitchen :!:

Only 2 touches I think from the AI damn idiots :P

I'll be on this one here soon. Just got to get through the Thanksgiving rush at work.

Been really busy lately. Damn work.

:P Hey Kel, you can swap paint with them!! Its nice to get a 100% contact free run but a slight rub here' n' there is ok! The replay you've downloaded of my earlier attempt shows what contact is ok if that helps clear it up.

Will check your replay out tonight but I know its AOK before I view it ;)

Had a free half an hour, so i tried this one a couple of times.
Very hard to stay away from the A.I. cars.
They are 🤬 idiots!

Lap 1: 29.551 - 1.07.432 - 1.27.858 = 2.07.997
Lap 2: 22.127 - 1.00.080 - 1.20.679 = 2.01.148
Lap 3: 21.916 - 1.00.024 - 1.20.352 = 2.00.446

Total time: 6.09.561

New time:

Lap 1: 29.521 / 1.07.427 / 1.27.767 = 2.07.862
Lap 2: 21.860 / 59.909 / 1.20.159 = 2.00.335
Lap 3: 21.874 / 1.00.010 / 1.20.370 = 2.00.371

Total tme: 6.08.568

I think i can improve this time a little further, because i have driven a 2.07.5xx and a 1.59.985 once. Only not in one run:(

 Nice time there MIH, thats got the 'ol GT-R cranked up. Had another couple of attempts myself last night but kept being held up by the bloody VW RSR. Have dipped into the 2:08's and I'm a bee's dick off some 1:59's for lap 2 & 3...just haven't found the right Field of cars to put a clean FAST race together. Hoping to find time this week-end to put some more laps in.

Here's my SLOWARSED attempt!

30.138 1:09.197 1:29.896 2:10.148 :(
22.429 1:02.161 1:23.083 2:03.532 :(

So I'm sitting here in stunned silence. Almost ticked enough to order a PAL set-up. I'm thinking I've either got the wrong car, or the wrong set-up.

My valiant attempts have landed me in the north 40 looking through binoculars at the rest of the field. whispers of a 6'35. run.

More time to be spent...

So I have to ask, what's the one secret that I'm missing? Where am I missing? Should I start on the pole, or should I be starting from the back of the grid? I'm looking for that one tip that shows me the light behind door #2, as Door #1 has been thoroughly searched.

Thanks,

AO

Start from the back that's right, are you sure you are using the right car? as I haven't touched my set up except for turning off the assists. My best lap 1 is 1'09.0 I can't see me even coming close to MIH's time :(
Is it the track you don't like ? I have noticed that I myself am more than a second down on MIH's T3 for lap 1 :( There's a lot of time to be made/lost here .

...Maybe you have got the wrong car it's the last of the GTR skylines ( R34) you have got the T8's on too haven't you ?

You've got the R34 with 337 HP, AO?
After the start, stay on the inside of the track and take the first right-handed corner from the inside. This should put you in front of 3 or 4 cars. A lot ot time can be won or lost in that first corner.

Also, try a couple of free run laps on full speed. There are a few corners that can be taken with full throttle.

Bah, I dont see how Mischa can run it that fast, that basic suspension gives you nothing and the gear ratios are just horrible. In all my runs yesterday, about 10 of them, with the basic TORC 7 rules(you have no idea how much I hate these) of no touching the AI I didnt make it past the first turn....

I hate TORC rules and no AI contact(nothing against you Drew) is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of, how is it your fault if another car rear ends you on a perfect race...you have to start all over, Tosk and his stupid series can kiss my ass because he comes up with so many stupid ass rules that he needs to make them size 6 font in a word processor just so he can fit them into his post, waste of time. BAH my rant is done.

More tries today :)

Matt you are allowed a little contact so long as it's not advantageous :D
I thought the same thing at first . Not sure if I wanna try this race again actually :P

Zero: lol man that was a good read (rant) i do agree with you about some of the rules (got bitten hard twice in Torc7)

Lotus: ditto tried it dont like it

sorry drew

;) No offence taken at all mates....I just happen to like trying to get as clean a race as possible thats all...I know its hard coz I curse and swear constantly myself at these type of races, but I do get a great sense of pride when I succeed as I'm sure you all do. But we are all allowed our own opinions so :P
We must be almost ready for a new race anyways...who's got one?
Cheers ;)

So I'm sitting here in stunned silence. Almost ticked enough to order a PAL set-up. I'm thinking I've either got the wrong car, or the wrong set-up.

By Rob, NTSC user.

What in the bloody hell is going on here? I'm running the hell out of this skyline and I'm sitting in the 6'16's. I know I could improve upon this time a bit, but 8 more frickin seconds?   There ain't no way in hell that I'm picking up another 8 🤬 seconds. What the heck man?

As I noted above, there seems to be a trend here with the NTSC users, I really don't think that me, Alex and Matt should be so far off the pace here. (if I can fit a few more confused smilies in this post I will. :D ) The only explanation that I can see for this is that there MUST be some sort of difference between the PAL and NTSC setups when simulation races are run.

Matt and Alex, have either of you two improved upon your times enough that you have come close in time with the PAL users?

I am thouroughly  :befuddeled: : perplexed: :baffled: :bewildered:

Hey Boom...post up a replay and I'll cross check it with a PAL replay and see if there are any differences in the NTSC/PAL GT- R's, don't really expect there to be but its worth a try mate. I'm truly sorry to see you so bewildered. What lap times are you running at the moment?

I've had another go at this and I managed to shave another second off of the total time. 6'15's.

First laps are in the 2'11's and following laps are usually in the 2'02 range.

That 6'15 that I got I started off with a blue Skyline and finished with a silver one, as I had traded so much paint with that damn Bettle. :D

I'll keep on trying at it. I don't want my rant's of frustration to sound like I'm trying to take anything away from the times that everyone has posted here. They are truly some great times.
