Introduced in 2000 and face-lifted in 2003, the 1.8 SRi was the hottest Corsa C from the factory. It came with a choice of either the 1.4 litre engine we see in Gran Turismo 4-6, or the more powerful 1.8 litre engine. It had 123BHP, which in a car of its size, made it surprisingly fast (compared to, say, a horse-drawn carriage).

In my opinion it's one of the better looking small cars, and it's about 1.5x more powerful than the Corsa Comfort featured in recent Gran Turismo games.

Specs:
Engine - 1796cc 16V inline-4
Power - 123BHP
Weight - 1,082kg
Torque - 122 lb-ft
0-60 - 8.0 seconds
Top Speed - 126mph

And there you have it, GTPlanet!

Apologies if it's already been suggested!

...Liked, but kinda curious, has anyone here suggested an Irmsher Opel before?
Not according to my search, though this hasn't got the irmscher kit on it which was an exhaust, a splitter and a grille if I remember correct.

...? I remember reading about an Astra (or was it a Corsa? Hmm) tuned by Irmscher. It looked all Ricer'ed-up. Tastefully of course. I'm too lazy to google it though...:)

I'm not very sure on anything that isn't the Corsa C to be honest (I own a 1 litre) But irmscher makes a lot of cosmetic upgrades for a lot of Vauxhalls, some tasteful, some horrific. But I think they made a few official Corsas which only had the grille, bumper and exhaust.

Last year of the C. Even though I was only 7 at the time, I remember seeing the ads for the final SRi runs, and being quite sad to see it go.

My father owns an '09 Corsa D. I remember seeing the first ads for the D and thinking "wait, what?". It was so huge compared to the C. Thing is we both have 1 litre versions. So, both of our cars use engines which haven't changed much since 1993. Thing is his car weighs 200kg more, and has no more power. This 1.8 here weighs less than his 1 litre!

The D generation was everything but attractive and it seems that the new E generation won't be good either. The current Adam should have been the new Corsa model. The design is really engaging, it would bring back the norm of the B generation, by many the best model of the Corsa fleet.

According to a Croatian magazine, the initial sale results of the C generation were disappointing due to lack of expression in design and limited choice of colors. Hard to comment these statements from today's point of view.

Frankly I think the C is the best looking. One of the colour choices was Aruba blue (think french blue on the Jag XKRS), which is pretty cool. According to sources I've seen the C was incredibly successful throughout its production run.

The C generation does offer some interesting colors, but the body is overly rounded, with no specific sections standing out like they did on the B generation. Overall, a bit too common for my taste, but others may like it.

The overall sale results may be exquisite, but the statement above was probably based on initial results in Croatia where Opel was a dominating manufacturer for several consecutive years, so even small fluctuations in sales may call for alert. The D generation was even worse though.

Is C reliable?
It should be, more so than was the B generation.

I own a C, and it's served me well. For all intents and purposes the D used the same engines, but was a lot heavier, so with the engines working harder, my father's D has been less reliable than my C.
