Version Differences?

That's a good question. One that probably hasn't been asked too often before. Unfortunately I don't know the answer yet but someone who's been playing GT4 more often should know...

No diffrence... same game, its just when they sell a certain amout of copies then it becomes one of the greatest hits many other games have a greatest hits version

some platinum (greatest hits) versions of games work on different versions of the ps2, whereas the originals dont, and the other way round. It's happened to me a few times, but the gameplay is the same.

i think the platinum (greatest hits) version has the valencia circuit (forgot name) as it was included in tourist trophy as a motorcycle track and pd decided to share the track with gt players

It will depend on which version you are talking about.

For example, the original Asian releases, at least the Japanese version of GT4, has the old Mini in it and no other versions have it, including the GH versions.

Also, the GH version had a compatibility bug fixed so that it could work with an early version of the PS3 OS.

There were no major GH differences, though, unfortunately, because GT4 has so much that is incomplete, missing or rushed, but SONY doesn't want to have major differences between the same game versions.

Cheers,

MasterGT

Not for PS2 games, but they did that for GT2, on the PS1. They fixed up all bugs that bothered (and intrigued) GT players on the Greatest Hits version, seen in the Games Guide.
