I would suggest you save your money for a actual sound sound system. If you're using this along with your TV's speakers, it's not going to be much of an improvement, to be honest.

Get a very good 5.1 (or more) sound system/home cinema or use a very good headphone depending if you live in a house or in a flat with neighbours close to your walls. (like me...:yuck:)

I have a Sony Bravia Engine 5.1 Home Cinema that I literally use with some Technics headphones for my PS3, and it sounds great so far with everything. Sometimes to test the engine sounds or details I forget about everything and put my 5.1 which is a blast. Never use the TV speakers because they are really weak.

Please dont expect too much from GT6 in the sounds department - no matter what system you use. Even a Buttkicker dont have very much to do during a GT6-session.

I usually play with headphones and just out of curiosity I plugged in my high end surround sound system. I was shocked, how little this brings to the game. I was already suspecting that the system was crashed - until I played some other racing games / sims :D

Anyone tried (or uses) this ?

I have a Race Room 2000 racing seat / Thrustmaster T500RS wheel / LG led TV combo.
Great feeling, but the sound is not that good.
Could the Vibe subwoofer be of any help ?
A subwoofer that costs 49 Quid would be about as good as a racing wheel that cost 49 Quid. Does that answer the question?

Thanks for the answers.
My rigg is in a seperate room and I don't have to worry for any neighbours :)
In my downstairs living room I have a great 5.1 (B&W speakers and Yamaha subwoofer) and a pretty big Sony Bravia LCD.
Tried the PS3 on this combo to see/hear the difference.

As Tomcat66 said: don't expect too much from GT6 in the sound department ... he is right. It was absolutely a lot better than the effect of the small LG speakers, but having the rigg in my living room was no option.
Even tried it on my Sony Bravia (without the 5.1 sound system) and even that gave a noticeable difference.

So because the speakers of my (game) LG tv are rather poor, I was looking for something (not taking too much space) to enhance the sound somewhat. I listened in the shop to some (Sony, Samsung) soundbars. Not bad, but a lot of money for what they really did.

Then i stumbled onto this Vibe thing: relatively small, one cable, no extra amplifier, mounting under the seat is possible (maybe you could feel it then ?), not expensive.
But until now I found no way to listen to the thing first (no dealer or shop in Belgium), that's why I was looking for some feedback by owners. Nobody seems to be using it though.

I also had my eye on this Logitech set:

Have not had the chance to listen to that one either...
But I don't really like all the mounting bars, especially the one to the headpart of the seat.

As for a headset: tried it, was great for 15 minutes and then it began to bother me... don't really know why...

Those are not going to be that great either. Logitech subs are not great. I have had a few over the years.

You want some good cheap speakers? They're huge, but sound great for the price.. and 7.1 system for relatively cheap. I use them with my 8 year old Yamaha RX-V661 ..

Get those with a decent receiver that has a mic and auto EQ function, and you'll be good for any game or sim. Hell I use them for movies and music and they work great for that when set up properly. These speakers really benefit from the auto eq, it smooths them out and lets them crank loud without being the least bit harsh until volume levels are painful.

Add a bass shaker to rig, and you're set..

Now I know you can get much better speakers.. but for the price, those cannot be beat. If you really cannot hang them on the walls, you must live in a shoebox.

My receiver and those speakers and the sub are still going very strong, and still sound great after all these years. I got them in 2006! I abuse them weekly, and use them daily, and the have even survived a move in a moving truck that happened to not have any suspension at all.

Meh, I think GT6 has some kind of a high-pass filter for the audio. My massive subwoofer just doesn't sound right on this game. Engine sounds, etc. sound "fine" but music has almost all the bass cut out of it and even if I turn the sub level all the way up, it's still not loud.

Just a little gripe I have but I can also see why they would do this. It's probably to get rid of low-end subsonic rumble during gameplay, which I can understand, but the filter is also used on menus.

Just sayin, don't expect a whole lot from a subwoofer because this game cuts most everything but mid-bass.

I have a good 5.1 (Dali Speakers and Velodyne subwoofer) with a Panasonic VT plasma and the result with some PS3 is incredible, but GT6 is not the best. They need to improve cars' sounds.

Like the two above me ^^^ I also have a nice sub, a self-powered 12" Klipsch and the bass just isn't there for the most part in GT, even on the music.
