video capture card

Forget about those Dazzle things. I've heard nothing but trouble from them and their capture resolution is small.

The best way to go is to get a full PCI tuner card.

Thanks Viper. Does anyone else have an opinion? ;)

Dont get a dazzle, very poor video capture.

go to dabs.com and the products are reviewed by customers so they can tell you whether its crap

Does anybody else have any input on what capture device I should buy? Feel free to list something that I have not, if you think it is better.;)

Hey Silviadrifter, just me Toyo. Thought I'd give you my experience with Vid cards. I currently own an external usb vid card, because I own a laptop. It is made by the company KWorld and it is named the MpegTV. It works pretty well and the only problems I see is that the fr is a little bit lower then some others, but it does have to go thru the USB so there's your reason why. I bought mine off of ebay.com for 75 buxx total, including shipping.

I have a PCTV Pro TV Tuner/Video Capture card...still need to hook it up to my TV though. :embarrassed:

ATI TV Wonder does wonders for most people. And it's not a full graphics card if you don't need a gfx board

I have an ATi All-in-Wonder. It's pretty good.
Which one do you have? I was thinking of getting the ATi All-in-Wonder 8200 model, which I think sells for 160.00. Did you have any problem installing yours? How is the capture quality? ;)

I bought the ATi All-in-Wonder 9000 pro, today. I haven't installed it yet, ( having trouble finding the correct driver for my chipset: VIA-VT8235). Does anyone else have this card? ;)

The same goes for your motherboard. VIA has unified drivers called Hyperion 4 in 1, version 4.51.
