Ok, I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 9000Pro, which I use to capture video. When I capture video, it seems to be too dark. When I opened Movie Maker, it said that my screen resolution is set to 640 by something, and that I should set it to 1080 by something for optimum performance. How do I change the screen resolution? Do I have to change the screen resolution, or is there some other way to make my captures brighter.;)

I don't really have experience in the video capture aspect, but your screen resolutions seem off.

What do you have your monitor resolution set to? I would assume it's at least 1024 x 768, if not higher like 1280 x 1024, or even 1600 x 1200. You can check this with the Display Preferances in your Control Pannel. Should be in the last tab.

Next would be the resolution of what you're capturing. What kind of connection are you using? S-Video would make the most sense, I imagine, and its resolution is something like 640 x 480, though not exactly.

Can you give us more info? Perhaps search on Google.

I am using S-video, and I am capturing from my PS2. Anyway, I will try to adjust the monitor settings, so I can maybe fix this problem. Anyone else have any idea of what to do? ;)

Yes, you need to change your screen resolution. 640x480 is absolutely disgusting. Change it to at least 1024x768.

As for the brightness problem, there are probably brightness and contrast settings within Movie Maker, have you checked there?

Yeah, I figured out how to change the brightness within Movie Maker. Thanks for everyones help. BTW, has anyone here used Studio 8, or Vegas, or Premier? I am trying to figure out which one is the best. ;)

I use vegas video mainly because it's pretty simple to use and i'm used to it. I have premiere also, but I can't even do something simple like crossfade. Although if I bothered to learn how to use premiere my videos would be allot better.

I have Vegas, so I think I will start using that. BTW, nice location  Strong bad is awesome, but Homestar, is the **** IMHO.;)

I found Vegas Video easy to use because the interface is simmilar to soundforge, which is made by the same company. They are both cross compatble, making audio editing a bit easier.
