Video Cards?

As long as you don't buy a card with the nvidia nv17 chip that won't let tv-tool use your tv-out it is a good card.. oh and I got one:( !

/D

I have a GeForce 5200 Ultra...

BTW, is Radeon really better than GeForce? Or do people just assume the higher cost means that rather than it's just more popular?

bling bling!

Radeon is for people who like to look at nice images

GeForce is for people who like higher framerates.

Basically, they're both good, it's just which you prefer more. Myself, I side with Radeon.

Yes. MX cards are crap.

Your GeForce 4 MX card is probably only a fraction faster than a GeForce 2.

... Why settle for a card that only has 128MB when there are cards out there with 258MB?

#1 Cost. Why pay more money when you're not even gonna use what you payed extra for?

#2 There are no games that require even 128Mb of video memory (to my knowledge. and if there is, the visuals must be ****ing stunning) so why have 256MB when no game requires anything close to that?

The highest video memory requirement I have ever seen is 64MB.
About the only thing you would need 256MB of video memory for would be if you are editing gigabytes upon gigabytes of video files.

Hehehe....

Soon Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 will be out. The visuals on those are AMAZING, also they both require at LEAST a 128mb video card. I might have to upgrade to a 256 :D.

The HL2 demo at E3 was running on a Radeon 9800 256 MB. You'll probably need a card with 256 MB to run it well.

Yeah, I'll have to make sure we get a 256MB card on my new computer once I get it....
