I want to make a video something simmilar to Cudaman`s gran durifto. I have a TV card which lets me capture my replays into uncompressed AVI format, but what I want to know is what software package can I use to edit the clips and add a soundtrack? also I want to compress the file with Divx (hey a 1min replay took up 360mb uncompressed) so can anyone give me some advice on this?

Do you have windows XP? There is a great (maybe not great, but decent) movie editor in there.

yeah I have winXP but i dont want to install it just to use its video editing software. Doesnt anyone know what software I can use?

Get Adobe premier! I have a copy and it is the BEST software ever. It can encode using any codec you have on your computer.

Vegas Video. Best thing I've used. It's also professional grade to. But the downside is that it retails at $600. On KaZaa its Free :D Thats were I got mine. Also its not to difficult to use but it take some getting used to the interface.

 for PC users for sure! Totally agree with ya...

Premier kicks ass on mac's too! It is way more powerful, and can handle more...

Of course you need a minimum of a G3 to run it properly...

Ha Vegas is way better than Premier. according to my friend who does it as a job

Unhun... Okay... Since adboe premier is used in every motion picture editing studio... If you look in the special features section of the f&tf, you will find that they are using adobe premier.

You just have to know how to use it...

? What the hell does that have to do with the discussion? :reallyodd we are talking video editors, not special effects. Most effects are done using Maya

Ulead has a new video editing suite that's supposed to be good, and purhaps more in your price range, as a register user that is, along with a smaller learning curve....

Just some thoughts.... I've used vegas video, which is a nice tool, but Premiere offers a lot more features, which at times, the more features you have the more confusing the product is, which results in a less productive environment.

I thought Final Cut Pro was the best software. Or is that just for Macs?

Looks pretty good. It's mac on;y (since most work is done on a mac) and pretty new.

It might be one people will switch to.
