This is in GT3. There is something called MK's program. You get you game save onto a PC and then read the save into this program which will allow you to swap engines, chassis or anything that is fitted to the car. You then transfer the save back to the PS2 and you are away.

You can download it from here:

http://www.famine-online.co.uk/gt3hybrid.html

If you don't have a Sharkport (or an Action Replay Max Evo), you will need to get something called a MaxDrive which is made by a company called Datel. This will create a .max file from the PS2.

To use MK's program you need to read the .max file on the PC and save as a .xps file using this:

http://www.ps2savetools.com/download.php?op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=74&ttitle=PS2_Save_Builder

Use MK's program on the .xps file and then use the Save Builder to save as a .xps and transfer back to the PS2.

Yiou can use a Gameshark to make codes to do this but MK's is a lot easier and more convenient to use.

Thanks for the explanation RogsR34UK. Unfortunately, I do not have a MaxDrive yet, so I'm using MKs program and this Code Converter to create GS2v3 codes. By the way, you have an excellent website, and it helped alot when I started creating hybrids.

I just finished a 'proper' run around the Test Course in the Super-Mini, this time using a Sample 001 Motor (stock 966hp) and a Stage 4 turbo from the R390 Road Car to make 3551hp. Downforce was set back to stock (.19/.26) and still running T5's -

You need a converter to get your codes to work Gnome? I have a GS V5.3 Broadband Enabled and got the hybrid codes to work. Am I missing something?

I got my codes here.....http://home.comcast.net/~trefies_sinned/code_guide/index.htm

If I'm using the MK's Program to get Gameshark Codes, it will only provide GS2v2 codes. I use MK's program because the site you mention does not have the codes that I would like to use, such as downforce codes and other various codes, then I convert the GS2v2 codes to GS2v3 codes.

Hey what's up gnome? You might not be familiar with me until you realize I was the inspiration for your gameshark'd NRG... it's me Chuck. Anyways, cool idea on the car. I've got a hybrid of me own I might go ahead and get a video for. It's a very burly Ford Falcon. Btw, coolios on the wheel-base for the Mini.

Hey, nice seeing people from other forums around here! Making GT3 hybrids was the main reason I got a Gameshark in the first place, so I'm glad that it works for San Andreas also.

When oyu hybrid cars in san andreas, do you use the MK program still? Or is it something different? I may have ot give it a try if it isnt too complicated.

To Gnome, I downloaded MKs program and the code converter you have linked and am interested on how you do the conversions to the later Gameshark. Is it necessary for me to have a gamesave? If it is, then which save/file type should I download? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I found some saves and got them converted to work with MKs program. I just need help to get the codes converted to the newer GS format.

No, MK's only works for Gran Turismo 3 & Concept I do believe. If you'd like to make "hybrids" for San Andreas, check this Gameshark Site or ARMax Site

I found some saves and got them converted to work with MKs program. I just need help to get the codes converted to the newer GS format.

(I'm doing by memory because I'm at work now, I'll clean it up later if necessary)

Okay, first thing is load up a game save, then choose which part that you would like a code for.

Then right click on the MK's program, set basecode to GS2, and select 'list coded car', then save the text. Find the GS2 code (should be 1c04XXXX - XXXXXXXX) and copy it.

Then load the Code Converter, select AR2 in the first column, paste the 1c04XXXX - XXXXXXXX, but first remove the hyphen and space so it looks like 1c04XXXX XXXXXXXX.

Go to the second column and select GS2v3. Then press -> and it should convert to a code for GS2v3. You then can copy and save it to text for future reference.
