Hey,

I've got a very nice replay at Suzuka 20 minute race, from which I would want about 1 min cut out as it was really nice battle on last lap for the win. There's a big problem... I dont have a capture thingy, I have the replay exported so if anyone have a HD capture device and is keen to help me please contact me, so we talk about more details

Thanks !

Hi, I might be able to help you, tho I haven't done this for a while.

Presumably you would email across the replay file and I save it via USB to the correct place in the cross file system on ps3 (haven't done it for a while so would have to look that bit up), import the replay file into gt6 in game and then record the bit you want.

Examples of my vids on YouTube are on this sub forum for you to see what I can do. Obviously need to mention YouTube decreases quality of vid when you upload a file.

The replay file I captured would be quite big, so probably the best option would be for me to upload it onto YouTube and you can watch it there (and download it from there using youtubedownloader or some other program if you needed to do that).

If that scenario is ok for you, let me know...

There might be another way. @sirjim73 once the video is rendered you could upload it to google drive and @stg could download it from there. That way he would get the original high quality 60fps video instead of the highly compressed 30fps YouTube version.

I have uploaded the nailbiting finish to the race here for anyone who would like to see it. Also uploading the start of the race and full race vid which will be finished uploading on my channel in a few hours...

As @t_wilson01 rightly points out this is only a compressed YouTube version. If anyone else from the club (other than stg who i am already speaking to) would like a full size version let me know.

Hi all - the start of the race and full race vid have finished uploading and you can find them here...:

Happy I could help

Hi.I would love to upload GT6 replays to youtube or similar.

Hi @sirjim73...Im hoping you could try the same as for STG..My replay is 409KB,just 1 lap of bathurst in a Camaro Z28 '69,a car that Bob Jane raced back in the glory days.May i email the replay to you.I guess i export the file,USB it to computer,or would opening google webpage and then attaching the replay file work or be better.I just need an email adress if we can agree..Thanks so muchutback73

I've been wondering how to upload replay files to Youtube, as I have no clue about the file type GT6 replay files are... Can someone recommend some converting software?

GT6 doesn't save video files - no Gran Turismo game ever has. It saves data files that GT6 can recreate a replay from. There's thus no way to convert the replay files as they aren't video and the only thing that can read them is GT6.

You need an external capture device. I use a Hauppauge HD-PVR for things like this:

Oh, okay. I must buy one then. Thanks anyway. :)

The two main ones people use are the Hauppage mentioned by Famine and the Elgato which I use. Both seem to be recommended by whoever who uses them. Have a look for deals as that may influence what you get.

@PIGBOY do you still need that replay uploaded...?
