It's cool to drive those concepts but I find it a very clever and effective (exposure wise) marketing as well.

Most of VGT cars I believe will be released in conjunction with a motor show, unveiling of new model from the same manufacturer or some other event. (so I wouldn't expect them to be released any faster)

This putts GT6 in the same articles talking about that particular motor show and/or car ("you can drive the car in GT6") giving it exposure and inevitably - sales.

10s if not 100s of websites covered AMG VGT mentioning GT6 plus obviously each manufacturer mentioning the car on their homepage.

Just look at this - so many high trafficked websites covering it

Google results
This will be similar story with each VGT car so either intentionally or not - this will definitely bring in more sales.

I've said this before but I think this whole VGT thing was a brilliant strategy on PD/Kaz's part, to tie in GT and the auto manufacturers so closely in terms of real time marketing and exposure of a current product. People getting to drive in a game with good physics something they could only dream about until this point, is great for both parties and car fans as well. Win/win all around:cheers:

Nice marketing indeed, and great for receiving cash and publicity from manufacturers to demonstrate their concepts.
Question is though if they shouldn't spend that modelling time on cars people really want, and are real?
It's all nice fantasy wise, but if it means you'll only receive real cars as DLC only once in a while, because they had to throw in another vision GT, i'd prefer to skip it.

I believe it is smart. This allows PD to gain more attention from other manufacturers who also may want to create their own VGT cars, and get more people into Gran Turismo. Really it is clever marketing.

I'd hold off calling it clever marketing until they produce more than one single VGT car and start delivering the cars on a regular basis. The buzz is starting to wane a bit.

I'd agree with that. The idea is clever, get some unique cars and in all likelihood get paid to include them. But I was expecting at least one a month, not one (and a racing version) every three months.

It is a good idea from a marketing sense but if it largely fails to be completed it is yet another scar on the franchise. They should have left out all the proposed participants until the cars were ready to be completed. At first it was exciting to think where this could go to but as each month passes and there are no tangible updates, it makes me think there may be problems ahead.

I hope it succeeds and we eventually see all the models presented because it is an enjoyable addition to the franchise.

have they even released a third one yet?, not yet another Merc i would hope...besides the first one Was basically a racing car.

Yes but here we are thinking we are the audience to target ... I think we are not ... they want to reach a whole new set of consumers with that ... through Automobile blogs etc. ...

I don't like concepts much at all, & find the whole VGT thing to be rather meh. But if it's makes for good business for the game & manufacturers, then good for them
