VisionRacer VR3 Should I Buy?

That thing is really, really nice looking. I watched a video of it though and noticed that there is some movement from the shifter while shifting, and the wheel looks like it moves when making quick turns. For that much money you would think it would be more solid then it is. The movement was very minimal though, and you probably wouldn't notice it while using it. I don't even notice the flex in my playseat when using it, and I'm sure it moves alot more then the visionracer setup. At that price range though, I would look at fanatecs cockpit too. It looks like it would be rock solid, and has the option for the triple screen setup. The fanatec setup does look much heavier though and would be a real pain to ever move. The vision racer looks like you could push it into another room if you needed it out of the way.

That one costs $1,791.24 CAD before Canada's lovely tax and duties, anyways I cant find a good review of this , what do you think? Any help would be appreciated, want to finish this today.

I just mentioned the Fanatec one because it's in that price range and looks super solid. Here's a review of it with everything you would want to know about it
http://www.gtforums.co.uk/gtforumsc1/showthread.php?tid=162

The other option would be to get the frex frame http://frex.xsrv.jp/gpshop/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_26&products_id=67 and keep adding to it until you had the full sim motion setup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDEJ3tMvCFk

I don't know what wheel and pedals you have now but if you bought the obutto cockpit http://www.obutto.com/products.html the pictures at the bottom are of the new style. Then you could take the money left over and buy the Fanatec 911 turbo s wheel with the clubsport pedals.

These are just a couple of the things I would do with 1200$ toward a racing setup. I really want to upgrade from the playseat, but can't justify spending a bunch more money, to replace something that works for me. If I had it to do over I would definitely get something besides the playseat. Don't get me wrong the playseat does the job and is the best deal out there, but there are other options that I didn't know about at the time. I thought the playseat was the only whel setup that existed.

I'm still having loads of fun with mine, i now have the fanatec wheel and clubsport pedals fitted.. and because it looks so good It hasn't had to go up stairs out of sight :)

there is a little flex, but you don't notice it when driving, I made an adapter plate up to mount the fanatec, I gave up trying to drill through the polished steel (it's hard!)
it was less work to build an adapter and get additionall functionality as well (wheel tilt) it's all very secure. I've had steel brackets made up to mount the surround speakers to the frame as well. It's great fun.

Good luck theres a lot to choose from.

i just looked at the fanatec and JESUS this thing comes with nothing you have to buy the single monitor stand separately and also the g25 shifter adapter, its gonna cost me $1,791.24 CAD before Canada's lovely tax and duties, anyways i cant find a good review of this , what do you think? im looking to buy the best rig because i have the money right now and i have no problem spending it for a good rig, so any help would be appreciated, want to finish this today.

There is also the Virtual Roadster .....http://www.virtualroadster.com which is a good choice for little less than you're willing to spend and it's a very solid cockpit. I've had it for about a year and love it

Just another option for you.

Not sure if the deal is still going but a month or two ago Jordan worked out a deal with the people that make VR and there was a discount for GTP members. Like I said though, not sure if this deal is still going.

okay guys just ordered the Fanatec heres my order:

1 x RennSport Wheel Stand Pedal Stopper $25.95
1 x RennSport Cockpit $1,410.00
1 x RennSport Cockpit Single Monitor Stand $282.95
1 x RennSport Cockpit G25 Shifter Adapter $72.35

Thought about other rigs but the Fanatec is just in its own league, thanks for your advices guyz and thanks to BEVO i was about to get the VisionRacer because i had no idea the Fanatec was compatible with the G25 when you told me to look at it i accidentally figured it out so thanks. I will post pics when its here...only God knows when!

That's gonna be an amazing setup. If I ever decide to upgrade that's probably what I'll go with too.

I can´t really see it beat the nixim racecraft GT. That truly is perfect!. Though the Rennsport may be cheaper depending on how much you hotten up the GT. You have aluminium versus solid steel so I doubt the Rennsport is as stiff. Though for the G25 I doubt it would be a problem other then if you install the nixim brake mod perhaps.
Adjustability looks excellent almost as good as on the nixim. You have a bit more options on the pedal tray for the nixim cockpits.

Polecat work good if you aren´t needing the speaker stands though the extra length and such increase stability even further. the nixim weight a ton due so calculate for some real freight costs. I have mounted a LFE which kicks like a mule. There is nothing that budges even a mm on mine and it makes tons for the immersion. You can mount an ECCI or Frex wheel and have no unwanted vibrations going on surely.

If you haven´t looked into it maybe cancel your order until you researched it?
http://www.nixim.com/GT/racecraftGT.html. It´s not on the web page but Dave also got a triple monitor holder now.
It´s really is perfect I can´t see what more could be asked from a cockpit.

I like Fanatecs product so far I am not trying to talk it down. Rennsport looks great and all and It´s my second hand contestant as best cockpit but I am trying to be on the customers side. It surely looks the part. I would die to be able to compare them side by side.

Another plus for the Nixim is that it´s hand made. There is not two cockpits that are the same. Continuous under development and you can ask for some specific alterations though that will of course increase the cost if you have any special needs. The craftmanship is just incredible.
