Two-time Formula DRIFT champion and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust will be making his return to the world of drifting after a six year hiatus. Though he is only running a partial season this year, Tanner’s goal is to be as competitive as possible for the three events he is attending. He will be piloting his brand new V8-powered Volkswagen Passat drift car at the Formula DRIFT season opener in Long Beach, California, at the Road to the Championship in Braselton, Georgia, and at the Final Fight in Irwindale, California.

"I'm excited to be returning to Formula Drift this season with Nitto Tire on the brand new Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Passat," said Tanner Foust. "My roots are in drifting and I’m happy to be back. There’s something special about Formula Drift fans - they’re real car enthusiasts and I’m looking forward to the chance to reconnect.”

The car isn't manufactured by Rockstar.
From the 'Cars Suggestion Forum Guidelines':
Uniquely-built tuner cars
[Tuner] [Make if applicable] [Model] [Other details as applicable] [Year]
Example: [Scorch Racing] [Silvia S15] [Time Attack] [2012] = Scorch Racing Silvia S15 Time Attack 2012

That's the name of the car from the two links I provided. And that's what it's called officially.

Did Rockstar tune the car? You have "Rockstar Energy Drink" as the tuner...

Team Nitto Passat Formula D 2015. I don't know for sure who built the car, but Team Nitto is the team that's fielding the car for Tanner Foust.

It's a lot closer than calling it a Rockstar Energy Drink VW Passat.

Not sure who tuned it. But that's what the media are calling it. So I don't know what to call it. Of course your call.

Edit:
I found a name 'Rockstar Energy Drink/Nitto Tire Volkswagen Passat' from the link below. I'll put it up till further notice. I flipped the name around since Nitto gave them the cars.

Papadakis Racing built the car. So what do you think ?

I think that Nitto makes tyres, Rockstar makes drinks and neither of them makes, builds, tunes or tinkers with cars.

This looks like it's a Volkswagen Passat that someone has messed about with (quite a bit) - helped along by the fact that it includes the words in the name and Foust apparently has to say them whenever he refers to the car - and thus should be called "Volkswagen Passat". It seems to be a B7 generation model, so should be called "Volkswagen Passat (B7)".

It appears to be competing in Formula Drift, so ought to be called "Volkswagen Passat (B7) Formula Drift" - and it's fielded by the Team Nitto squad for Tanner Foust in the 2015 season, so "Volkswagen Passat (B7) Formula Drift Team Nitto Tanner Foust 2015".

It needs to be no more complex than that.

That is one nice looking drift car. Wouldn't mind having one in GT.

Only possible obstacle with this car getting into Gran Turismo is the Forza Motorsport/Xbox One sponsorship stickers on the car. Likely workarounds to avoid a conflict with Microsoft/Turn 10 (if such a thing happens) would be either replace those with one that says Gran Turismo/PS4 or simply remove them from the car.

If they can find a way to get it into the game, I would certainly grab it. If it is allowed without editing anything on the car, that would be even better.

I don't usually like heavily tuned cars, especially drifting ones, but I just love this Passat. Voted.

Just read the feature on this car in Performance VW. Papadakis takes all credit for building this beast.

Space framed front and rear end and a Chevy LS7 V8.

Little article here.
