1959 Cooper T51 vs 1950-1951 Alfa Romeo 158/159 Alfetta

Both of these cars were resoundingly beaten in their semi-finals but still managed to secure a respectable 26.1% and 20.4% share of the votes respectively, not a bad figure given the allure of the Maserati and Mercedes-Benz.

There's still the matter of 3rd and 4th place to be decided so which car will win? The coleopteric, rear-engined Cooper or the brutality of the cylinder Alfa Romeo?

Two icons from opposite ends of the decade:

1959 Cooper T51

Engine: 2.5L Coventry-Climax I4
Noted Drivers: Jack Brabham, Stirling Moss, Bruce McLaren, Maurice Trintignant
