This is mainly hitting all the members of GTP who have just reached the age to actually Vote in the national polls. I don't vote because I reckon no matter the political group they all have the same thing in common, that is to get your vote with all this talk about making things better and when they do get to power they just line there pockets with your money and everything they said they will fix just gets more worse. The lasted timed I voted was when I put new labour into power now all the jobs they were gonna tackle have now gotten even harder with government just sitting there growing fat off our backs. So in the end I just chose to no longer vote because its not worth it anymore

I throw away my vote every time I goto the polls.... but I still go,..... to not vote but still complain about the government is, IMO, hypicritical.

because one day,... your cause could have a chance to win,.. but if you keep that attitude, you'll convinvce yourself, and worse yet, others, that theres no hope....

There is hope,.... hope for later generations if we keep acting,... if we give up,.. their doomed to the same fate as us.

y'know mate I ain't alone in this non voting issue its because the last government before new labour (conservative) was doing a terrible job and new labour promised to fix the problems but it only got worse.

However mr.red eye racer you have stirred me enought to vote again so I will vote for my new party the liberal democrats should they get into power and mess around like the last 2 parties before it I would truly have lost hope

👍 Glad to be of service,... your grandchildren will thank you for it when they put into perspective what could've happened (same fate we're accostomed to) if we didnt keep speaking out 👍

just try and see it from my side when I used my vote (for the first time) I got screwed up royally because non of the jobs they said they were gonna do never happened or they tried but didnt put as much effort as they said they would.

I am well pissed of about it maybe I should just make my own party and call it "the blue collar party" because we actually come from the hard "common" people backgrounds unlike politians who all graduate from oxford who Never know how we people get on with our lives.

very true,... I feel your pain,.. trust me. It's impossible to be a successful politition if you dont have a considerable financial backing.

The problem with politicions, as you state in para.1 is that they lie about what their gonna do.

Reminds me of how we used to play the field in high school to get laid. Promice them fame and fortune then kick em to the curb after you've been in

You should at least vote in national elections, and also try to vote in local ones as well.

If you don't vote you forfeit your right to complain. And I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't complain!

A lot of people tell me I throw my vote away because I have never voted for a "Big Two" party presidential candidate. But for all the reasons RER set out, I have to say that my vore counts all the more because it is for minority party or independent candidates.

Also another thing when you say "doomed to the same fate as us" what do you mean

That means that all generations are victims of the previous ones' judgments. Our doomed fate is to be victims of corperate cooruption to the point of economical meltdown (will happen in our life). Just as our parents generation were victims of gender/racial persecution,... so-on and so-on..... all the way back to the Hebrews being persecuted by the Egyptions.

Genereations learn from the others mistakes,.. BUT!! ONLY if the new generation takes the bull by the horns and shows the world that it knows theres a problem.

If we didnt vote,... no one would realize the problem,.. let alone get the ball rolling fast enough to get a viable candidate in office to do something about it.

I always had that in the back my head too,.... if I ever come into a large sum of money,.... my main goal will be to spend every penny fighting against main-stream politics.

There is no such thing as a wasted vote (this coming from a man from a state that used to have punch cards as ballots). Secondly, even if it gets little press, your local government and even city meetings are equally important. Sure, your national leader may be important, but the chances of them truly impacting any legal situation in your area is rather nil.

Yes, politics and bickering go hand-in-hand. Mudslinging, lobbying, are vested interests are part of the program. But it's better than no voice and no choice at all. Couple that with the right to all but slanderour elected officials, and I can't very well fault the voting system as it is (although the electoral collage concept is a bit ridiculous).

I thought that was the initial intentions of the Labour party in the first place?

Well I suppose it was a while ago, before nu-labhore.

I should vote, but i'm far too stupid to remember when, or what i'm voting for. So I usually forget.

Asher you cloit, remind me or something.

I was asking people who have just reached the age to vote which means people of my age btween 18 to 21
So you've started a thread intended to encourage young people to not vote. Nice. Do you also hang around school yards selling crack?

At least you aren't in the States. Because of the way our government is set up, NO changes are made, with the exception of our economy...
