Virtual Reality Racing begins 2019 where it began 2018, in the midst of intense endurance racing. This time, we bring what we've learned from 2018 and refine it. Six LMP1 drivers share the track with at least 9 GTE cars. The championship will be single lobby, making things more simplistic, and will also be classified as Division I in VRR's Online Competitive Championship classifications, detailing the championship's importance to VRR, and the expected quality of competition. We welcome drivers and teams to come to VRR to compete with us and enjoy thorough endurance racing.

VRR DHL Endurance Championship Technical and Supplemental Regulations
Section 1. Series Registration-P Class
1.1. The Prototype Class to the VRR DHL Endurance Championship will be restricted to three two car teams, one team per manufacturer between Audi, Porsche, and Toyota.
1.1.2. As of the 400km of Spain, Nissan is also an available P Class manufacturer.
1.2. Prototype teams must share nearly identical liveries between the two cars, with the only allowed differences being in side mirror color, identification requirements such as car number, driver name, and national flags, and wheel color.
1.3. Drivers rated Diamond, Gold, or Emerald have the ability to race in the Prototype Class. (See Driver Ratings in post 2 regarding drivers eligible to race in the class.)
1.4. Cars in the Prototype Class can be numbered from 2-99, with 1 being reserved for TNR_5zigen by means of being the GT3 Professional Class Champion in the VRR TAG Heuer Endurance Championship.
1.5. Team names cannot be real life team names, but can incorporate the manufacturer into the name.
1.6. The Prototype Class is limited to six total entries, with no wild card entries permitted. Teams have the ability to call in drivers as substitutes, should one of the team's primary drivers be unable to participate in the event.
1.6.1. Substitute drivers do not have to adhere to the licence requirement unless they participate in four or more events.
1.6.2. Substitute drivers for Prototype Class cars must use the same car number as the driver they are substituting in for.
1.7. All P Class cars will be utilizing soft compound Michelin-branded tires .
1.8. For a race to be permitted to start, at least 4 Prototype Class cars must be in attendance, and a maximum of 6 Prototype Class cars are permitted to race.

2.1. The Grand Touring (GT) Class to the VRR DHL Endurance Championship will be open to teams permitted to run one, two, or three cars.
2.2. GT Class teams are permitted to have their cars adorned with different liveries, but the primary sponsor to the livery must be outlined.
2.3. All drivers are permitted to participate in the class, regardless of licence rating.
2.4. Cars in the GT Class are permitted to be numbered between 2-999, with the number 1 being reserved for TNR_5zigen (see 1.4). Additionally, GTP_Crim has the ability to run the number 0 as the GT3 Amateur Class Champion in the VRR TAG Heuer Endurance Championship.
2.5. Team names cannot be real life team names, nor can they feature the manufacturer, as more than one team can potentially utilize the manufacturer.
2.6. Teams in GT Class are not required to use the same car model for their cars.
2.6.1. Teams however will be limited to using cars from two different manufacturers. (For example, a team running three cars can run 2 Ferrari 458 Italia cars and 1 Lexus RC F GT3 car, or vise versa)
2.7. The GT Class can accept up to nine full time drivers, with additional part time entries also permitted.
2.7.1. In the event that one of the 6 P Class grid spaces are vacant, the GT Class can host an additional car, up to 11 total GT Class entries in a race.
2.8. GT Class teams can run substitute drivers in the case that a regular driver is not able to attend an event. However, unlike in P Class, the substitute driver is not required to use the regular driver's car number, and can elect to use their own if it is available for use.
2.9. GT Class teams have the ability to select from three tire brands, Michelin, Dunlop, and Bridgestone.
2.9.1. All cars on any given team must be equiped with the same tire brand.
2.9.2. GT Class will utilize soft compound tires.
2.10. For a race to be permitted to start, a minimum of four GT Class cars must be in attendance.

3.1. Liveries featuring sponsorship from tobacco companies, or pornographic materials will be prohibited. Drivers that enter events in violation will be immediately suspended.
3.2. Political liveries will not be tolerated. VRR is a neutral zone. Drivers will be given one warning if their liveries are found to be in violation of this. After that one warning, they will receive a one race suspension.
3.3. Liveries that are distasteful or intended to be a meme will not be permitted.
3.4. All entries are limited to a single livery throughout the season. Minor changes that do not alter the overall identity of the car are permitted.
3.4.1. Minor changes permitted to liveries can include side mirror colors, associate sponsorship adjustments, or change in texture of decals and paint. Significant alterations regarding patterns and colors are not permitted once the season has began and the entrant has taken part in a championship event.
3.5. All P Class cars will be required to utilize the red numberplate provided with this link. The numberplate is required to be located in the same position on both sides of the car.
3.5.1. The numberplate cannot extend beyond the top of the wheel arches in the car's bodywork, and must be located between the front and rear tires.
3.6. The Michelin banner logo is required to be on P Class cars under both front headlights.
3.7. The VRR logo is required to be on the nose of all P Class cars on top of a red background.
3.8. All GT Class cars will be required to utilize the blue numberplate provided with this link. The numberplate is required to be in the same location on both sides of the car, as well as on the bonnet of the car.
3.8.1. The numberplates on the sides of the car must be below the wheel arches in the bodywork of the car, and must be located between the front and rear tires.
3.9. All GT Class cars must be equipped with yellow headlights.
3.10. All GT Class cars must be equipped with the black Gran Turismo windshield banner.
3.11. For GT Class, the VRR logo must be placed in front of the side mirrors, with a blue background.
3.12. Tire supplier decals must be present on all GT Class cars dependent on which supplier the entry is using. The supplier's decals must be present on the front of the car under the headlights and on the C-Pillar on both sides.
3.13. All cars must use the provided number decals listed here: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
3.14. Primary sponsors claimed for entries cannot be used by other teams.
3.15. Entries that do not conform to any parts of Section 3 will be handed a 1 lap penalty for each infraction located on the car.
4.1. Each race event will be composed of two classes, Prototype (P) Class, and Grand Touring (GT) Class. P Class is intended to be a faster class, focused around team efforts and more skilled drivers, while GT Class is more open, flexible, and slower.
4.2. For any given event, up to 6 P Class cars can participate in the event. A minimum of 4 P Class cars is required for a championship race to take place.
4.3. For GT Class, depending on how many P Class cars are entered for an event, up to 11 cars can compete in the class. A minimum of 4 GT Class cars is required for a championship race to take place.
4.4. In addition to the potential 15 racing entries, the final slot of the lobby is reserved for the race director, who is only permitted to participate in an event if it is necessary for an event to take place. Under normal circumstances, the race director's primary focus will be to ensure the event remains on schedule as well as act as a safety car during the event.
5.1. VRR is a clean racing environment. Rough, but fair competition is expected. Accidents will be reviewed after each race and post race penalties may be assessed.
5.2. Drivers must be aware of their surroundings at all times in a multiclass environment. Drivers in the faster class will be expected to drive cleaner and use patience with their overtakes.
5.3. Drivers attempting to lap cars will need to use flashing lights as well as patience in passing.
5.4. Drivers being lapped do not have to pull off of the racing line, but must maintain a constant line until after they have been cleared by the passing car.
5.5. Drivers that have been lapped cannot fight to regain that lap unless they are engaged in a battle for direct position on track.
5.6. The racing surface is determined to be the asphalt/concrete which contains the racing line. Curbstones, drainage lines, sausage curbing, astroturf, and painted tarmac outside of the lined boundaries of the racing surface do not count as part of the racing surface.
5.6.1. Penalties will be assessed based on if drivers gain an advantage in comparison to the driver immediately in front of or behind (depending on which car is closest) by abusing track limits by either cutting the insides of corners or by using the outside boundaries on corners and corner exits.
5.6.2. Some corners will be given leniency to the ruling based on difficulty to adhere to the initial rule or how confined the track surface is in that specific corner.
5.6.2.1. Dragon Trail-Seaside--Turns 10-13 (Bus Stop) permits using the curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.2. Nurburgring GP Strecke--Turn 4 (Mercedes Arena Exit), turns 8-9 (Michael Schumacher S). turns 13-14 (NGK Chicane) permits using curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.3. Nurburgring 24H--Turn 2 (Yokohama S exit) permits ability to run wide.
5.6.2.4. Autodromo Nazionale Monza--Turns 1-2 (Rettifilo Chicane), turns 4-5 (Roggia Chicane), turns 8-10 (Ascari Chicane) permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.5. Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya--Turns 1-2, turn 9, turns 14-15 permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.6. Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace--Turns 1-2 (Senna S), turn 9 permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.7. Fuji International Speedway--Turns 10-12 (Dunlop Chicane) permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.8. Red Bull Ring--Turns 7-8 (Rindt Corner to Red Bull Mobile Corner) permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.6.2.9. Circuit de la Sarthe--Turns 2-3 (Dunlop Chicane), turn 8 (Tertre Rouge), turn 25 (Corvette Corner), turns 26-29 (Ford Chicanes) permits using the striped curbing as track surface.
5.7. During Parc Ferme, drivers will be directed to park in a designated area and wait for further instruction. Drivers that continue to move after being instructed to park their vehicles, or drivers that cause collisions with other parked vehicles, will have their qualifying times invalidated and will be moved to the rear of the entire field, regardless of class.
5.8. Pit entry and exit lines are to be respected at all times. Drivers that are found to cross the solid lines entering or exiting pit lane will receive a 10 second post race time penalty for each offense.
5.9. Passing under yellow flag conditions is prohibited. Drivers that pass under any yellow flag conditions and do not give the position back will be handed a 30 second post race time penalty.
5.10. Drivers that prematurely leave a race once will be given a disciplinary warning for the first offense. The second time a driver leaves a race before the finish, the driver will be suspended for one race. The third time a driver leave a race early, they will not be permitted to continue the season in any capacity.
5.11. Drivers vying to defend a position on track are allowed one defensive move. Making a defensive move as a reactive measure will earn a warning/penalty. This includes weaving back and forth across the racing surface.
5.12. Brake testing at any point during a race, including formation laps, will not be permitted.
Note: All times listed are in Eastern U.S. time.
6.1. Prior to the race lobby opening, a qualifying session for GT Class will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. This session will determine the starting order for the GT Class cars in the race, as well as any reserve drivers for in case an emergency forces one of the top 9 to withdraw from the event at the last second.
6.1.1. For the final four races of the season, the top 4 drivers in the GT Class Drivers Championship will be safe from being bumped out of the field, with the remaining drivers qualifying to fill one of the remaining grid spaces.
6.2. P Class qualifying will begin at 1:00 p.m, with the session lasting 15 minutes. The fastest 6 P Class cars will advance to the race.
6.3. After P Class qualifying has concluded, all drivers that have advanced to the race will be permitted to enter the event lobby at 1:20 p.m for last minute warm up. From this point, any changes a driver makes to their set up will result in them being required to serve a five second stop and go penalty within the first three green flag laps of the race.
6.4. After warm up has concluded at 1:50 p.m, all drivers will be directed to pit lane to conduct a visibility check. Visibility checks are vital to ensuring all competitors are able to see each other. Drivers not being able to see each other has the potential of causing accidents, as two drivers unable to see each other, particularly in different classes, can cause the cars to phase into each other and warp forwards, backwards, or upwards suddenly, endangering nearby cars.
6.4.1. Drivers unable to see the number of attending drivers in the lobby will be directed to reset their PlayStation 4 systems and clear the in game temporary system data prior to rejoining the lobby.
6.4.2. If a driver is unable to resolve their issues, they will be forced to miss the event, with the drivers next in line based on qualifying results being called in to fill the vacancy when applicable.
6.6. At 2:00 p.m, or at race director's discretion, the race will begin. Each race will be preceded by a formation lap. All competitors will follow the safety car single file until the final sector of the track, at which point, the field will go double file, with each class' pole position lining up on the inside lane in respect to turn 1's direction. If there is an odd number amount of P Class cars, the GT Class pole sitter will still mark the beginning of a new row of cars.
6.7. Prior to the final corner, the safety car will pull away from the field to move out of the way, with P Class leader expected to maintain 62 miles per hour/100 kilometers per hour until the start of the race. The race begins once the P Class pole sitter reaches the beginning of the pit lane wall. Drivers are permitted to pass and change lanes prior to crossing the start finish line.
6.8. In the event that cars suffer mechanical damage on the formation lap, they will drop to the rear of the field and pit when they reach pit lane.
7.1. For normal races, P Class will score points to the top 6 finishers in a 10-8-6-4-2-1 scale.
7.1.2. For the Le Mans 600 Kilometer Race, points for the top 6 in P Class will be double.
7.2. For normal races, GT Class will score points to the top 8 finishers in a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 scale. Drivers that finish the race 9th or potentially lower will also score one point.
7.2.1. For the Le Mans 600 Kilometer Race, points for the top 8 in GT Class will be double the normal amount, in a 20-16-12-10-8-6-4-2 scale, with 9th and potentially lower continuing to score 1 point.
7.3. To score points, drivers must complete 90% of the class leader's race distance as well as take the checkered flag to finish the race.
7.3.1. An exception to this rule applies for the 3 Hours of Le Mans, where the lap time for both classes exceeds 3 minutes in length.
7.4. Championships will be available for teams in both classes, as well as drivers in both classes, and manufacturers in GT Class.
7.4.1. For the GT Manufacturer's Championship, the top finisher for each manufacturer per race will count towards the standings.
7.4.2. For the team championships, all entries for all teams will count.
8.1. Post race time penalties are penalties assessed to drivers for infractions observed during a racing event. These type of penalties are the default method of punishing a driver's actions if the event in question finishes under racing conditions.
8.1.1. Crossing the pit entry line (solid white or yellow line leading to pit lane) will result in a 10 second post race time penalty.
8.1.2. Crossing the pit exit line (solid white or yellow line merging drivers back onto the racing surface exiting pit lane) will result in a 10 second post race time penalty.
8.1.3. Repeated corner cutting resulting in an advantage being gained over nearby competitors will result in a 15 second post race time penalty for every three infractions.
8.1.4. Deliberate corner cutting, or corner cutting that gives a multiple second advantage will result in a 20 second post race time penalty.
8.1.5. Causing avoidable contact that does not give another competitor mechanical damage, but forces a driver off track will result in a 20 second post race time penalty.
8.1.6. Causing an avoidable collision that gives another competitor mechanical damage or directly causes the need for a safety car deployment will result in a 30 second time penalty.
8.1.7. A blocking maneuver that gives a challenging competitor damage, forces the competitor off track, or otherwise causes unnecessary danger will result in a 30 second post race time penalty.
8.1.8. A driver making more than 1 reactive blocking maneuver will be given a 10 second post race time penalty per additional reactive blocking maneuver after the first.
8.1.9. Jumping the start of the race or a restart after a safety car period will result in a 20 second post race time penalty.
8.1.10. Overtaking a competitor under yellow flag conditions will result in a 20 second post race time penalty.
8.1.10.1. Competitors on track with mechanical damage are permitted to be overtaken when safe to do so if the driver is unable to keep reasonable speed to catch the safety car queue.
8.1.11. Making contact with another car under safety car conditions or on the formation lap will result in a 30 second post race time penalty.
8.1.12. Rejoining the racing surface unsafely in front of oncoming traffic will result in a 20 second post race time penalty.
8.1.13. Overtaking a competitor for position while not having a minimum of two tires on the racing surface will result in a 10 second post race time penalty if the position is not returned to the original competitor within three laps.
8.1.14. Ignoring blue flags and impeding competitors attempting to get past in an effort to place the driver in question a lap down will result in a 15 second post race time penalty.
8.2. In the event that an event finishes under safety car conditions, infractions will be penalized in the form of a grid penalty for the next applicable event.
8.2.1. For every three seconds of time penalties, a starting grid position will be penalized from the driver in question.
8.2.2. If a driver cannot fully serve a grid penalty in one event, the remainder will be served in the next applicable event after.
8.3. A driver that receives 90 seconds worth of post race time penalties will be subject to disqualification from the event in question.
8.4. Some infractions cannot be penalized through post race time penalties, but can still be handled through other means of punishment.
8.4.1. For the first offense of leaving a race session prematurely, a reprimand will be given to the driver in question.
8.4.2. For the second offense of leaving a race session prematurely, a one race suspension will be awarded.
8.4.3. For the third offense of leaving a race session prematurely, a two race suspension will be awarded.
8.4.4. For the fourth offense of leaving a race session prematurely, a four race suspension will be awarded.
8.4.4.1. Race suspensions apply only to the series the offense occurs.
8.4.4.2. Appeals can be made with sound reason as to why the voluntary forfeit occured.
8.4.5. Causing a deliberate collision with another car for any reason and with any end result will result in an minimum one race suspension.
8.4.5.1. The exact length of the suspension is left to the race steward to finalize on a per case basis.
8.4.6. Insulting a driver through prejudice or unfounded malice will result in a one race suspension once evidence is brought forward. An appeal will not be granted.
8.4.7. Entries that violate any of the requirements for liveries will be excluded from the results of the race the violation occurs, awarding no championship points to the driver, team, or manufacturer if applicable.
9.1. A safety car period, otherwise known as a full course yellow, or a caution, is a period of race neutralization due to a severe accident or severe technical issues. Safety car periods will be controlled by the race director to ensure a safe and fair restart to an event with as minimal delay as possible.
9.2. Safety car periods can be utilized following accidents that involve more than three cars, accidents that result in two cars receiving engine damage, or mass disconnections.
9.2.1. Safety car periods utilized for accidents involving four or more cars do not require a specific amount of damage received by any of the competitors.
9.2.1.1. All involved cars could theoretically not receive mechanical damage at all. The requirement for a safety car to be deployed under these circumstances is having four or more cars come to a sudden or unsafe rest on or directly near the racing surface.
9.2.1.2. Additionally, cars that venture away from the racing surface but sustain mechanical damage can still count towards the safety car period so long that the damage was obtained indirectly or directly by the other cars involved.
9.2.2. Safety car periods utilized for accidents where two cars sustain engine damage can only be issued if the drivers involved type out the letters "ED" to indicate that those involved have engine damage.
9.2.2.1. Drivers that do not type out "ED" will not be counted towards the two car requirement for a safety car period of this kind.
9.2.2.2. Drivers that falsify reports of engine damage to have a safety car period deployed will be disqualified from the event in question and suspended for the next applicable event.
9.2.3. Mass disconnections, under VRR definition, is three or more competitors being disconnected from the race lobby within 180 seconds.
9.2.3.1. Safety car periods utilized for mass disconnection events will lead to a red flag period to regather the field and allow the disconnected drivers the ability to return to the event.
9.3. In the event that a safety car period is issued, the race director will type "SCD" for Safety Car Deployment. The entire track then becomes under yellow flag conditions, meaning overtaking is not permitted unless the cars being overtaken are off of the racing surface or hindered by mechanical damage. The field will continue at a reasonable pace until the overall race leader has caught up to the safety car to begin the safety car queue.
9.3.1. The safety car will hold a speed of 62 miles per hour/100 kilometers per hour when safe to do so, and all drivers are expected to leave two to three car lengths between each other while a part of the safety car queue.
9.3.2. If applicable, once the entire field has entered the safety car queue, GT Class cars behind the P Class leader, but ahead of the GT Class leader, will be directed to pass the safety car queue and the safety car to the right hand side and catch back up at the rear of the safety car queue.
9.3.3. Once the GT Class cars have been waved by, all of the P Class cars caught behind GT Class cars may also pass to the right hand side, but they will instead line up behind the P Class leader without swapping order.
9.3.4. Once the field is ordered with P Class cars in front of the queue, and GT Class cars following, the safety car will indicate the race returning to green flag conditions and pull away, with the P Class leader holding the safety car speed. Racing conditions will return once the P Class leader reaches the beginning of the pit lane wall.
9.4. The pit lane will remain open at all times of the race, with exception to red flag periods, in which the pit lane will close. Drivers are expected to pit prior to catching the safety car queue, and drivers that pit after catching the queue will start behind all of the GT Class cars on the race restart.
9.5. In the event of a mass disconnection, the normal safety car procedure will be applied until the field has been sorted correctly. Instead of returning to racing conditions, the field will be stopped by the safety car in the final sector before reaching the entrance to pit lane. The race director will record the leaderboard, as well as obtain the laps completed by the class leaders before all cars vacate the track to allow the disconnected drivers back into the race.
9.5.1. Drivers involved in a mass disconnection event will be scored based on their last completed lap, and will restart the race at the rear of the field, regardless of class.
9.5.2. Drivers that disconnect separately without a mass disconnection event will be classified as failed to finish due to technical failures, and will not score points.

All drivers that compete in any of VRR's Online Competitive Championships (OCCs) are included into VRR's Driver Licence Rating List, with drivers rated into one of five categories based on performance, consistency, and sportsmanship. Drivers can be rated as either Diamond, Gold, Emerald, Silver, or Bronze, with Diamond being the top of the list, and Bronze being at the low end of the list. Every two months, the list is updated to reflect changes, with drivers capable of being promoted or demoted based on the aforementioned statistics. VRR OCCs that use the Licence Rating list and system to help distinguish class participation eligibility must use the list available at the beginning of its season throughout the entire duration of the season to prevent drivers being forced to change classes or abandon a season campaign in a series.

Driver Licence Ratings have been posted in post #2, as well as an explanation to newcomers as to what the list is and how it works. Also adjusted the entry list to reflect Tigersport's change from Corvette to Porsche 911 in GT Class.
 
Calendar has been altered slightly, moving the first race of the season to 02 February. This is to avoid a clash with the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona being run on the 26-27 January, which some drivers will be following or attending.

Thread has been updated to include recent additions to GT Class as well as an important detail regarding GT Class Pre-Qualifying in Event Procedure, which can also be found below:
6.1. Prior to the race lobby opening, a pre-qualifying session for GT Class will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. in events where more than 9 GT Class cars are entered.
6.1.1. For the first four races of the season, all GT Class cars are required to take part in the pre-qualifying sessions.
6.1.2. For the final four races of the season, the top 4 drivers in the GT Class Drivers Championship will be safe from pre-qualifying, with the remaining drivers required to attend pre-qualifying to fill the remaining spaces.

Posting a update now that Christmas is out of the way: Balance of Performance for P Class and GT Class will be posted on Saturday. The BoP for GT Class for Le Mans and Monza will not be posted until February.
 
Balance of Performance for P Class and GT Class has been provisionally set, pending more detailed evaluations.

Additionally, there is a likelihood that drivers in this series will be using the voice channels in VRR's Discord server for communication. All information will be relayed through in game text alerts, but all competitors are also welcome to utilize the voice channels there as well.

I now for the initial start that overtaking is permitted once the leader reaches this mark. Is this the same for Safety Car restarts or does everyone have to hold position until they reach the control line?

That is a good question. It is the same for safety car restarts.
