Recently, I decided to try setting up a VW Beetle '66 on sports soft tires. Only one problem - I'm trying to leave space higher up for a more heavily-modified version on racing tires.
With the high RPM turbo, it's completely useless down low and still struggles to break 120mph.
With the mid RPM turbo, it runs out of power far below redline and still lags horribly.
With the low RPM turbo, it just plain doesn't have enough power.
I'm at engine stage 1 and weight stage 0 (going to save my game before I upgrade more). Is it possible to solve the lag problem while still leaving room for a heavier-duty version?
My guess is it's not, and this will be a car you have to drive with the traction control OFF (wheelspin off the line to keep the revs up) and a heavy right foot. A loose LSD to permit one tire fire will probably also be required.
