I put in a bid for this on Ebay last time it went up for auction, I was outbid and sadly in the end it was more than I could afford, but it's up for sale again, could be your chance to own a piece of automotive history and probably the rarest car on the planet, being as there is only one in exsistance.

This exact car actually appeared at the GT4 launch!

Wait...THAT's street legal? Holy crap, it must be funny to see it race some chav in a Corsa.

I saw this very car at the London Motor Show in 2006. I did have some photos of it at home, but I have no idea where they are.

Here are some photos I found on the web of it at the 2006 London Motor Show:

I love how they call it street legal, but no one on earth would call it "street-able". Maybe he's selling it because he can no longer afford a new set of tires at every stop light/sign.

They actually only ever made one because the designer deemed it far to dangerous for public roads, double the HP/weight ratio of a Veyron with none of the safety features, no traction control, not even any ABS!!

Maybe his estate is selling it because he had a heart attack when he thought about touching the gas...

He had to basically prove himself worthy to TVR before they would sell it to him.

Really? That's kinda extreme, but understandable. They wouldn't want bad media interest in the car and their company.

Would you have any idea what this person had to do to prove their worthiness?

But considering how hard it is to drive, I could probably beat it stoplight to stoplight with my Civic.

Video here. This was at Silverstone with old worn out slicks, and if I remember right he wasn't ever going over a quarter throttle.

That video didn't really show that car to the best of its ability, but considering it could literally wreck havoc on someone's life if handled wrongly, I guess it was the best way to drive it.

I mean, I would feel pretty apprenhensive about going remotely proper gassin' it!

Imagine if GT6 had this car (deservedly) as Premium and the RM would turn it from the GT5 version to the bonkers car you see here

Oh I see the dates now :D I can't even remember! I must've come here through a link on another thread. Worth the bump though, just goddamn LOOK at it. Unhhhhh

How much did he want for it? And why is it so ugly?

The Road going Speed 12 ended up in an accident that unfortunately wrote off it's original bodyshell. However, the Speed 12 race cars were not being used so one of their bodyshells was used to replace the roadcar's. The extra downforce apparently made the Speed 12 a much easier car to drive (The reason it was never put into production is because Peter Wheeler thought it was too powerful and difficult to drive).

wasnt there a silver one too?
W312 BFV

*edit
ignore that...just read that it got resprayed and replated

How does your license plate system work over there? Plate numbers mean nothing in America, so I'm curious. Especially with Top Gear and Fifth Gear always mentioning cars that are "_-registered."

Restored...

"TVR's mighty Cerbera Speed 12 firing up at the Big Northern Gathering. The first car you hear is Peter Wheeler's 5000M."

Just LISTEN to it. Then imagine that engine at full chat!!

The first recommended video at the end of the vid has some slow runs, as apparently the engine is still being worn in. Then there's some smut towards the end with really bad BGM, even for porn.

See also this thread though this was the first, and I missed that first starting up vid, O-M-G!

I'll upload a few of my Speed 12 pics some time soon, including a pic from the Birmingham NEC Motor Show from 199x, and a random and tragic pic I found a while back of the body shell of one, discarded presumably in the backyard of TVR's Blackpool plant.
