Want to create a new PSN - will I lose my save data?

Good evening, I'm looking to creating a new PSN account name (a GTP_*** one)and dont want to lose what I already have done in the game. Can I copy my backup, create a new profile and use the data on that profile after deleting it from my PS3 or is my save data attached to my current PSN account?

Please excuse my ignorance as I'm new to the PS3 world as of 3 weeks ago.

Thanks in advance!

So glad I used my GTP account to play GT5, would hate to level up just to do the qualifier.

Yeah I'm just trying to find out what I'm missing here because surely we can't be expected to level up a new account just to take part in the competition? I was excited 10 minutes ago but now I realise that is the case, I'm sure I don't want to. Intermediate SLS AMG is a lot of levelling iirc.

Yea how can they do that? Im a GT newbie - this is the first one Im taking seriously and I get shafted 1 month after release? Im 28 A and 32 B spec.

Just gift your new account one of the cars to do a seasonal event. The exp points from that should get you to a high enough level pretty quick

Considering the qualifier only requires you to get to Level 12, it's not all that bad. Especially considering you're doing a Special Event, so the car is given to you. From there, if it's really a problem, you can use your primary account to earn money and get cars and just gift an appropriate car to the GTP account when it's time to do a race.

When you save a save file using the 1.05 patch, it takes away the copy protection that was originally on it and replaces it with the username the file is saved on. When the game reloads that save, it'll check it against the username associated with the profile in use. If it matches, kthx move along. If it doesn't, it'll disallow it. The only way you'd be able to avoid this would be through hacking in some way, which is just more trouble than its worth.

Like I said above, keep playing on your normal save. When a GTP race comes along, get the car on that account, then turn around and gift that car to the GTP account. When done, gift it back. Or, you could do the save-file duplicating workaround so that you have the car on your main account and your GTP account at the same time.

Thanks - that's just what I did. New PSN ID and GTPlanet UserName
