yea, what do you want to know. ask me any specific questions you may have.
this is what I do:
-I have a red (brand) waxing iron. It has different settings for the correct heat settings. you can use an old regular iron if you dont care about getting wax in the holes of it.
-heat the iron up. try not to get it too hot, just hot enough. if the wax starts smoking it is too hot.
-hold the piece of wax that you bought up to the iron so that the melted wax drips onto the bottom of the board. I make a continuious pattern 8 on the board to try and spread it out as much as possible. Then with the iron, spread the wax out on the board. cover every inch of it, but only use enough wax to barely cover the whole board.
-let the wax dry. it should only take about 10 minutes. when it is dry, take the wax scraper you bought (basically a straight plastic edge), and scrape the wax off of the board. Everyone makes the mistake the first time they wax their board of leaving way too much wax on the board. scrape as much off as possible!! The only wax left on it should be absorbed into the base. This is why I told you to only put on enough before, so you arent wasting so much wax.
-Gather up the scraped off wax and make a ball of it to use later when you are out of wax if you want. You can use it later and it should work fine.
-Now use a scotch guard pad (those green washcloth things), and make a pattern into the wax. I make a spiral pattern by just pretending im polishing the base. It doesnt take long, so dont spend hours on it, or you will take too much residue off.
I do this and my board is as fast as ever. I also have some base cleaner spray that I use every few waxings to keep the base clean. you just spray it on and rub it through the base with a towel. Make all of the wax is off of the board first.
This was a guide for hot waxing your board. That other **** is different. Stay away from rubon wax if you can afford the other stuff. Hot wax is faster and protects your base better.
One waxing should last you about 4-5 days of snowboarding. Rub on waxing lasts about one day, I may be wrong, some are different.
