Please read the following section carefully. Failure to comply with the rules may result in your video not being shown in the final poll.

Rules/Structure:

• WDS Theme/location given on Saturday or Sunday.
  
• Entrants have 1 week to perform and capture their drift. NO IDENTIFYING MARKS. You may add music to your video.
• Drift should be captured on entrant's choice of track cam or dive cam, as well as with the chase cam + display. *NEW* 09/10/06 Failure to at least show the chase view+display will result in your video not being shown in the final poll - NO EXCEPTIONS.
  
• Entrants will upload their videos to YouTube. Entrants will not post their videos in the thread themselves.
• Entrants will PM me the YouTube link to their video before the next Sunday. All that is necessary is the URL. It should look similar to the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Dl49BbZi6Q
  
• Please do not disclose your car choice or make comments about your run that would make it easy for others to identify.
• A poll is constructed after the deadline passes (usually Sunday, unless I'm very busy).
• There will be 1 week of voting to determine a winner.
• The winner selects a theme & location for a future WDS.

Polling Rules:

• I am going to check the checkbox enabling multiple votes per voter. I WILL ALLOW 2 VOTES PER PERSON, NO MORE. If you vote for more than two vids I will not count your input in the final tally (if it's done by accident please PM me and I'll make a note of it).
• I will not count people's votes for their own videos. Even if you feel your vid is the strongest please vote for what you feel are the second and third best.
• *NEW* 09/09/06 If there is obvious tampering with the poll results, [for example: asking your friends to vote for your video, etc], you may either have votes deducted in the final tally or may be excluded from the poll altogether. If it becomes a common occurrence I may suspend future WDS entries as well.
  
• There will be two Honourable Mentions each week:
  • The entrant who won the right to pick the theme/location (ie. the winner three weeks ago).
  • The entrant who won the previous WDS event.
  If clips are submitted by these individuals, they will be placed in a special HM's section of this post, and will not be placed in the poll.
• If there is a tie for first I will ask one for the theme and the other for the location of a future WDS. (Hopefully there will be no 3-way ties)

First 3 turns of Clubman Stage Route 5.

Theme:
Any two-wheel-drive car with an engine displacement of 1810cc or less. Rotaries are not permitted.
Notice: SS Trueno is permitted despite engine diplacement not being shown. It supposedly has a TRD modified 4A-GE with diplacement of 1587cc - similar to the Formula Atlantic Series engines.

Check the car specs on the buy/sell screen. Engine displacement is listed at the top. It may be another scavenger hunt week to find the right car for you, but I think there's some good options listed here. it should be fun - I love tossing around little cars like this.

agh... those were the worst. I hated doing manmakers, or drills where you pull teammates down the ice with sticks while they plow to slow you down.

You guys have a big loss recently? That was the only time my coaches used to punish us like that.

I want to comment about the format of some of the vids. Many have been coming in recently without the chase view+display. I've been letting it slide, but I think it's time people were given a reminder about it.

The chase view is necessary for me to make sure there have been no cuts made in the clip to merge two separate replays together. Also, it will help some voters make their decision, based on speed, steering work, and line.

I'm gonna start cracking down on this. Video's without the chase view+display will not be included in the poll. If you are unclear on how to attain this view, please PM me.




Also...dive cams. There are good dive cams and bad dive cams.

For WDS entries, good dive cams have a clear view of the track ahead, no strange colours or blurring, and show the car clearly. They may chase the car from the rear, or be stationary at the side of the track - or look forwards from over the driver's shoulder if a convertible is being used. Cameras like these may be useful to you in displaying your drift from a different perspective if the default track cams aren't to your satisfaction.

Bad dive cams to show in your WDS entry twirl around the car, look rearwards, have weird colors or blurring, or are so tight to the car that you cannot see the car's location on the track.

Keep in mind what you want to show people when selecting your views.

Just some advanced notice to anyone who cares:
I think WDS13 will be delayed a few weeks for the holiday break. It appears from the lack of entries this week and last that people are busy with one thing or another - I myself am in the middle of a busy exam schedule (as I seem to keep repeating...)

My last exam is Saturday monring. I'm not gonna be around too much after Sunday - I'm headed home to the parents' for a couple weeks. [I can't wait... my mom spoils me soo much ]

I'll be returning to my dorm the first week of January. January 1st happens to be a Sunday this year, so WDS13 will be posted then.
The deadline for WDS12 has not changed.


edit: ...maybe I'll post some sorta fun challenge for people to tackle for the weeks I'm away... I just had a silly idea. It won't go down in the WDS Unofficial Ranking Spreadsheet, but we could still have a poll...
I'll fill in the details in 3 days.
