One of the things that catches my eye on GTS is an absence of current GTE cars. Is weird.

It's strange because these cars are the most famous these days. I do not know why, after all GT is a very prestigious franchise and commercial power with automakers.

GTS is a current game. And should have current cars. The exception is the Porsche RSR 911.

As PD has more intimacy with the FIA, nowadays, the natural one would be the PD to bring cars from FIA WEC such as Ford GT GTE, Ferrari 488 GTE, BMW M8 GTE, Corvette C7 GTE, Aston Martin Vantage GTE etc.

It's not a negative review. It's a question.

I see current franchises, from other brands, including these cars in their new games. And PD prefers to adopt older cars, three to four years ago.

Is it a licensing problem? The PD adopts many cars of the Nurburgring 24h, but not of Blancpain and WEC.

Even games like Forza, PC2 and Asseto Corsa already have these current cars. Forza is already launching Horizon 4 with Mclaren Senna.

I have this doubt.

Actually, the most popular GT races at the moment are the multiple (sometimes multi class, including sprint and endurance stages), most notably Blancpain and Super GT. If you take these into consideration, GT Sport covers almost all the bases, and then some.

In fact, the 911 RSR, which is Porsche's GTE variant, is a curious addition considering they have a proper GT3 racer, the 911 GT3 R. They are very similar in performances, differences being certain BoP aspects of GTE vs GT3 racing. However they can be quite competitive with each other so it's not a huge crime. Another strange addition is GTS's version of Corvette C7R. The races is a GTE one as well, but the design of the GTS one does not match the real one (though it looks cool).

Besides the other slew of GT3 cars, there are a few addition derived from the GT300 class from the Japanese Super GT, which is 100% competitive and compatible, and includes GT3 homologation cars.

GTS DOES include most of the GT3 cars used in VLN (Nurburgring) races and Blancpain, and then some (quite a lot). The exceptions at the moment being the newer 488 GT3, and the Bentley GT3.

With the exception of the odd 911 RSR addition, it does NOT include GTE class cars, and judging by the way the classes are set up, it is not trying to emulate GTE cars, but rather GT3/GT300(gr3), GT4(gr4), GT500 (gr2) and LMP1(gr1) cars.

In short, Gr3 cars is a general category which most accurately reproduces Super GT's GT300 regulations, which includes GT3 cars, with a few (somewhat odd) GTE additions.

They are not in it now. Like everything else there is a chance that certain cars get added at certain times.
