Just how close was Div 2?

Nice racing, everyone! When I get home from work, I'll have MaxDrive and NTSC X-Port replays available. Maybe if I'm lucky I can get someone to make a video for me. you reading this Ron? ;)

A belated congratulations to Lotus350 on her Week 83 victory! 👍

I could not submit. Sometimes, life gets in the way.

@Kent: Maybe you could leave the results thread up for a couple of weeks before you archive.

Great run eggman

hands down to all the hard working div.2 racers, VERY close

I managed right in the middle, I probably could have shaved a couple of tenths off with a better setup. And hands down to everyone who didn't race the celica!!!

Not to take anything away from the amazing runs in D1, but D2 is definitely the closest and most exciting races. I feel priviledged to run with all you D2 guys and look forward to doing it again week after week. 👍

Excellent runs eggmann, flat-out and Firestarter75.

I'll post my replay up in a day or 2.

I'll take another coffee and look back at it.

Edit :
Now I'm awake.
Many thanks to HighonPSI who runs faster than me but doesn't submit his time. And Jpec07, it seems that my higher power (388 hp) took advantage on your shorter wheelbase in the final sector.

I had a 1'34.181 saved lap but there was almost 3 wheels (actually 2,75) in the grass before T1. You're lucky I did submit my second best. ;)

That was a really close week, so perhaps we should run the multiple choice car + sim tires more often 💡

Very well said, tuff. 👍 I'll second that.

Me too.
I agree that the close competition we have in div 2 is highly enjoyable, and I hope it'll go on for weeks and weeks ; but I'm also wondering about the purpose of div. 3.
It doesn't seem (to me) exciting to race alone or with 1 or 2 other people as it usually happens there, and to be hoping on a quick promotion to have fun.
Perhaps moving down part of div. 2 drivers to div. 3 would be a solution to make things more exciting over there. No offence meant to div.2 drivers, we could call it div.2 pool A and div.2 pool B if it sounds more politically correct.
And of course, I'm ready to be part of the un-promoted team.

Any other suggestion ?
Kent, I guess you've already thought about that, any opinion yet ?

Well done all, especially to the many Div 2 racers ahead of me. I think I spent too much time finding a car and not enough practising with the car I settled on.Never mind.Good Racing all!!

It seems that we all agree that, we got a highly enjoyable and competitive division 2. Many of us race each other week after week, and use each others time to compare our progress and general standings. And almost everyone of us have had one or more podium placement in the div 2.

In my humble opinion, it would be pure stupidity to risk a destruction or at least a devaluation of a very competitive and homogeneous division only to try to save a rather unstable div. 3. Some times the div 3 is well functioning and some times it isn't.
I have had a both pleasant and educational time in the div 3 (23 races) with other racers like hareturtle (21 races) and jpec07 (20 races). We stayed with the WRS and made the div 3 a living division, but we also had weeks with only 1 or 2 racers. What i am trying to say is that, I do believe it's mainly up to the div 3 racers themselves. If they stick with the WRS they will both draw other racers to div 3 and eventually earn their promotion. 👍 Either way they'll end up having their part of the fun.

I'll get my $0.02 in here, it's great racing with all of you guys, div II and otherwise. Nothing makes me want to work (play?) harder than knowing that a couple of car-lengths could move me up five spots on the leaderboard :D

Didn't get as much time as I would have liked this week, it was a fun one. Never did try the Skyline.

As far as div 3 goes, I wouldn't mind seeing it merged with div 2, since there are so few guys running in div 3. That way, they'd be more a part of the group, and feel included even if they're further down the leaderboard. Nothing will keep new racers coming back more than making them feel welcome and wanted (as opposed to off in a corner by themselves ;) )

Edit to my suggestion of splitting div 2 :
If we remember well, division 3 was named 'Rookies' in the past, and that's pretty much what's going on. Newbies who are in division 3 are usually promoted to division 2 after a few weeks, when their lap times match division 2 requirements.
So I withdraw my suggestion and prefer to keep things like they are, with our unbelievably close competition div. 2

Congrats to eggmann, flat-out and Firestarter75 for their division wins.

👍 Thanks to Ron for making the vid and Mr. Anderson for hosting and posting it.

Thanks also to everyone for the compliments.

Nice lap Eggy :D and congrats on your victory (and by quite a margin 👍 ) well done!

Waow

That is a fast lap. I watched it. I know why I'm in div. 2.
Congrats Eggmann for this lap.

Hey, Nice competition.....Cheers to everyone's best....even if you didn't win your division, thumb's up! "Winning isn't everything!.....race for FUN!" :)

My replay will be up soon as I get a little rest.....tough work schedule the first few days of the week.

I never tried the Skyline....I pretty much wanted to concentrate on the one car, but it apparently was faster. Pretty strong runs by Eggman, Daan, and I'm sure that Mini-Cooper assault was an awesome effort.

See you's at the next venue! :yuck: 👍

WOOHOO!!! I scared the competition away this week AGAIN! Thanks guys, now that racing season has slowed for me(only 1 more race to work in November) I got time to play around here. I don't like being the only D3 competitor but hey, thats what the leaderboard is for. I can see if I am gaining or just how far off the pace I am.... and by looking at my times its not too often I pull off a mid-pack D2 finish.

You're not the only one... I was going to post and right in the middle of sending in my time, the computer froze and I neer got the chance again. Cya next race..

Kinda ironic that even though my Mini was waaaaaaay last overall, one less Div 1 time submitted & it could have had a podium!!

Congrats to all the division winners. :)

I look forward to the competition 04Nissan350Z. I do better when I don't have to pick the car, do tuning, etc. I like the arcade cars/track weeks because I can just drive lap after lap and if I am behind I know its the loose nut behind wheel that needs adjusting.

Thanks for sticking it out with a Mini Nick, wish I could've done so too.
That was a remarkable choice 👍 . I had raced a few laps with the Cooper, but on sims it gripped like a piece of soap and I quickly changed for the Celica, then the Skyline.
