Pretty easy week with some fun circuits. Willow Springs and Bathurst you can win with cars way under the suggested PP level, Bathurst I was at 660 and won by just under a minute. Tsukuba also was quite easy but those cars are a fun speed for the track. VGT race we've had a few times I'm pretty sure and as usual with those races you have to have a reasonably quick car as the AI starting near the front is usually in the Porsche, Skoda VGT was an easy win with the stock RM tyres. Final race was a surprise to see given we'd already had 3 of them, made picking a car difficult as I'd already used all the JGTC GT500 cars. Decided to use a old Gran Turismo RM style 300ZX which was an easy enough win. Would love to get the Motul Pitwork Z like we had in GT4 as a car again, or maybe an R33 or newer Supra to flesh that class out a bit more.

Cars for the week:

What setup do you have for the 300ZX?

Ah guys, it's been two horrible weeks behind me and another one ahead so I was a bit short of interest sadly. Didn't spend much more time here than the combined runtime of the five. The only event I ran a second time was the VGT race at Interlagos trying to receive a CRB but I failed twice vs. the Jag and gave up.

Race 1
Looks like @2cam16 and me had the same "project" running at Tsukuba.

Race 2
The Infinity VGT is a much better car than what I remembered. Be patient with the throttle and everything's fine. Plus I like the design.

Race 3
The Lambo VGT is one of my go to cars. Feels like it's got a built-in win guarantee.

Race 4
Piloting the Z around Mt. Panorama - love it, simply love it.

Race 5
An easy race but I admit my car's been overpowered. @bluealpine is correct, 730 PP should be fine vs. a relatively slow field.

"It’s a ten-lap race at the reverse layout of Kyoto Driving Park’s Yamagiwa course, and there’s actually no restrictions at all on the vehicles you can use. The AI will all be using custom-liveried cars — some road cars, some race cars — to create an authentic-looking JGTC grid, so you can either go with the theme or anything else"

you see, ..........they can do it if they want to !

For the VGT race I used the Lexus*. It's actually really good. First time I ever used it and it drives really well. It has overdrive so make sure you have a button mapped. It runs like 25psi of boost and revs to 13k! Give it a go if you haven't already.

*I had to reduce power to 99% with RMs to get it under the PP requirement.

What setup do you have for the 300ZX?
Just something I threw together ages ago, actually ended up changing some stuff after I did the race. Main thing is it's full tuned as far as it'll go (no engine swap) and runs RH, downforce is on 200/300 with the differential on 15/12/12. Other stuff I'd suggest just figuring out what works for your driving style.

Challenges done, was a quick and unexpectedly fun week.

1) Japanese FF 450 @ Tsukuba

Since the randomizer gave me the EG for this race, I went full Shingo for this one. Stock car, only sport suspensions, it took me three tries but eventually snatched a victory. Weird to see that the first try was a wet race, while the following two were dry.

2) American Clubman Cup 600 @ Willow Springs

Completely stock Focus RS for this one, it was a very fun event indeed. Brought it home with CRB by passing Dr. Emmet Brown at the penultimate lap and won over the Camaro by a couple seconds.

3) Vision GT Challenge @ Interlagos

When the randomizer gave me the Porsche VGT Spyder I was kind of sad, it's a car I didn't own already (which meant spending 1M) and it's yet another one of those super powerful EVs with no aero, much like the Jaguar VGT from last time. Or so I thought, this thing is much more fun than that! It needs a bit of learning but once tamed it's a really effective car, unlike the Jaguar VGT this one actually has brakes that are up to the task, though it still needs more aero. Passed the leading coupe version of my own car on lap 6 and won the following lap.

4) Race of Turbo Sports @ Bathurst

For this one I used my 4C Gr.3 Road Car, using Praiano's 700pp suspension setup but no engine swap and with SS tires. Super fun race, easy victory since I was leading by lap 3 when I overtook the Cosworth on the Conrod Straight, and cruised onwards to a very nice flawless victory. I love this car!

5) JGTC @ Kyoto Yamagiwa Reverse

And now for the best one. Decided eventually to use the regular R32 V-Spec II instead of the Nismo, didn't feel like buying a new one for 400k or upgrading my current one to 700pp+. Used my 700pp tune with no engine swap but had to use RS tires, since on RH I was just constantly losing from the leaders. Took me a while to familiarize with the reverse layout but eventually found my flow and took the lead. Super fun event, will probably try more cars in this race before it disappears forever. Which is honestly sad.

6* ticket gave me a duplicate Toyota GR010 which I sold for 1,175 mil, and surprisingly the daily marathon ticket was also a 6* which gave me the Italdesign VGT Street Mode, which I didn't have yet.

It was a quick run for me also, I've been preoccupied with the C race at Spa so I had to find some time to do the weeklies. The only race that was OP i guess was Turbo Sportscars wheras I used the same Porsche as I did for the JGTC @ Yamagiwa.

Enjoy.

If I make time to do this current set, here's what I'd use:

Japanese FF Challenge 450: Honda Civic Type R (FK2) '15

American Sunday Cup 600: Dodge Viper GTS '13

VGT Trophy: Lexus LF-LC GT VGT

Race of Turbo Sportscars: Nissan GT-R Nismo '17

Special Event: Nissan Skyline GT-R GT500 '99

Surprisingly, that GT-R Nismo '17 I plan to use for the Race of Turbo Sportscars isn't one that has the Bugatti engine, but it has been tuned and has served me quite well even with its stock engine. That said, I think I'll install a widebody on this one and put on some custom aero parts - though I don't plan to design a livery since it'll get rid of those neat red accents.

As for the particular Dodge Viper GTS '13 that I plan to use, I had a spare light blue one that I won via a roulette ticket but I've done nothing to it. Though after using it for this event, I still might not do anything to it until I get a spare Bugatti engine to put into it. Especially since the Bugatti engine is by far one of the most expensive swaps in the game if you choose to buy it from GT Auto.

Meanwhile, for the VGT Trophy, it seems like most if not every VGT that isn't in say, Gr.3 or Gr.1 can't have anything done to them beyond some very basic stuff, like installing other tire compounds and a ballast/power limiter. In this regard, the Lexus VGT is great, because when it's stock, it has 843 PP and has Racing Mediums pre-installed, so you can just do what I did and buy Racing Softs and then compensate for overshooting the PP limit using the ballast/power limiter. Plus I've never had to worry about running out of battery, and while it may seem like the Lexus VGT is outpaced by something like the Porsche VGT on the straights, it more than makes up for this in the corners.

Finally, a stock Civic Type R (FK2) could very well reach the suggested 450 PP limit after I tinker with the ballast and power limiter, but I'll have to check it out myself to make sure. Otherwise if it doesn't work, I might just use one of the two Integra Type R (DC2) models, albeit with minimal ballast changes since they're barely above 450 PP as stock.

Well I started the All Japan race on Friday night with the Castrol Supra. I started out shaky fell behind after lap 2 but I worked my way to the lead but I lost it by crashing on lap 6 regained on lap 7 lost it on 8 and I closed the gap on the final lap but spun out. No worries I had 2nd on lock but wait I crashed into the barrier on the final turn and finish in 8th. So I got mad and pulled out the Hyundai VGT dominate the 1st lap and decide I don't want to play GT7 anymore. So Played yesterday evening an I had to use the Supra again. Totally different race I gained the lead on 3rd or 4th lap and never lost it I was able to run about 1.36 so I think I was really sleepy on Friday. So then I went to Mt. Panorama with the XJ 220 but that is not a good car for that track. I didn't get to finish as my wife came up front so spent some time with her. I started playing GT later on but GT7 was acting funny. It took a long time to load and some the liveries on my cars would not show up and going from the garage to GT Auto took over 5 minutes so I shut it off. Hopefully I can get back and finish this off

I like the weeklies and I don't care at all about the rewards...I own most cars I like and I don't bother, that there are still 3 or 4 20mio cars missing in my garage, I can live with that...

There is only one thing I really, really hate, and that's anything that hast to do with drifting...If the come up with weekly drifting missions I will actually start to hate this game!
