Hey everyone!

Great racing!

Well, the field is pretty evenly split by those who ran with the GT40 and those that didn't. The times really reflect how powerful the GT40 really is.

I would like to congratulat everyone that ran this week. Great showing! 👍

As you will note, I have changed the naming of all the divisions. I think it's a much simpler formula for all those involved and I think it's a bit more respectable for the racers of the former "beginner" division.

Hope ya like it.

Division 1

1.28.412 CFM - GT40
1.28.767 ODP - GT40
1.30.087 GT3mich - GT40
1.32.277 Boom - Toyota Celica GT-Four
1.32.399 IDAFC21 - RX8
1.32.497 GoKents - Subaru 22B?

Division 2

1.28.827 danoff - GT40
1.29.726 HeinrichII - GT40
1.29.867 graveltrap - GT40
1.30.655 noojra - GT40
1.30.758 DSMAZDAGTR - Lotus Esprit 350
1.32.513 akindness - Mitsu EVO 7
1.32.596 VG30DETT - Subaru 22B
1.33.434 miata13B - Subaru 22B
1.33.623 GTJugend - EVO 7 GSR
1.33.992 Bbandit - RX8

Division 3

1.30.423 kragbees - GT40
1.32.017 speedy_samurai - GT40
1.32.750 Jpec07 - GT40
1.32.783 Zboost - GT40
1.34.051 Der Alta - Lotus Esprit 350

Some great times by the "division 2" drivers with the GT40! I had 2 runs in the 1:27's but each had a slight mistake so they weren't submitttable. Glad to have a full roster of racers again this week.:D See you all soon. Replay:

wow, very nice. i wish my best save wouldve been clean. that was a 1'32.0XX.....if not for about half of my wheel puffing up some dirt :irked: ah well. i finally got to drive my car in the weekly. im happy

nice one w/ the celica boom 👍 thats one i certainly didnt see comin. hehe. it is a nice car tho, i gotta get some time w/ it

i got a 1:30:.9xx (GT40) but as i went to melbourne on the weekend i had no time to better it. Plus I forgot :banghead:

Try and make the names a little more original EG

A spec
B spec
C spec
somthing that tells you the top class is better but also that the bottome class is not ****

Well, my best GT40 quick spin lap time was a 1'29.351
And I was easily taking another 0.5 sec off that over the first section, so it could've been a lower 1'28 time if I'd been trying hard with this car instead of just benchmarking the Esprit.

Oh well... Happy with the real cars time. Nice racing everyone...

Ha, thanks man! 👍 She was my sleeper and I was determined to make her a winner. It took a great deal of effort to get that time. :mischievous:

Excellent run with the Lotus DSMAZDAGTR! Well done.

I dunno about kragbees time there; I would like to see the replay of that one...

In ten laps in the GT40, I posted a clean 1'32.166. And knowing my previous attempts, I can see cleaning 1.5 out of that. Can we ask Kragbees to post his sector times up?

Laguna Seca is one of those courses that a split second saved in one corner can reflect across a wide space. For instance, taking the second corner after the horseshoe (a left turn) a tad bit faster gives you much better times across the entire back stretch up to the corkscrew. Dropping to 4th instead of 3rd at the corkscrew makes a major difference as well.

One of the best accessories you can buy for the PS2 is a sharkport/X-port. This will allow you to download other peoples replays and load them onto your memory card. You can then study the replay and how they took corners. This is by far, the best and easiest way to improve your racing.

Thanks for the advice.... When I play my friends and people I know, I can always win... but when you go up against the world.... you realize you really stink!

I used to think I was pretty good. Had no problems trouncing the AI in a fair fight. Started doing a bit of OLR, and was quite well schooled in how my Big Fish, little pond scenario was. I got better, then realized the guys I was gaining on, weren't as fast as some of the other aliens out there.

I've realized, I'll never be that fast, but I'll certainly be fast enough to enjoy it.

Everyone here did a very good job.

Some really good times flowing out there and I think idafc did a good job of showing what the rx8 can do.

Boom! showing the gt-four is really king :D

Good racing everyone.

Oh yeah... 22b was indeed my car.

Top time for the 22b also, which is a pleasant suprise... I really didn't expect that.

Well here's the replay.

I thought for sure there would be at least one 1'27 time in here. I got so pumped about how far ahead of my ghost car I was (on the run that I submitted) that I fishtailed after the corkscrew and slowed down too much in the final turn. I know there was more time to be taken off of the time I submitted, but I had already spent too many hours getting frustrated by that corkscrew and the 90 degree turn at the end.

Good runs everyone, I'm surprised at how well the non-GT40 cars did. I didn't try any of them for very long because I couldn't get them to hang in there.

just for fun i threw together a list of just the gt40 times, and the times from all the other cars. Aside from mazda's gt40 caliber run :P the competition was pretty close between the rest of us. its nice to see 3 or 4 different cars pulling in such close times to each other

and heres my replay

just watched booms, kents, and cfm's replays. all very nice 👍 im glad my little rwd car was able to keep up w/ a couple 4wd cars so well :D you can see where i messed up in mine, after the t3 when i let my back left tire go in the dirt before the turn...i didnt mean to do that, im lucky it didnt send me flying into the sand, but if had actually taken that turn the way had the previous 3000 times i wouldve had a much better time
