That they are. But that's all the legal rally cars in the game. As long as the driver sticks to the 2.5 PWR rule, everyone's laughing.

Well except those of us who don't win.

Gives you an idea of just how much choice there is though... Lordy!

Not my thing full mod rally :embarrassed:

but I might have a lap or 2 :mischievous:

best dust off da Momo :D

oh and btw, welcome scuderia to the gtp forums weekly races, I guess by your name you can speak italian, or am I wrong? I speak some but I suck at it's grammar :embarrassed:

OK, I found at least one Rally Car that can come fairly close to the 2.5 limit. With the stock tuning except a little extra downforce:

T2 = 33.43

hahaha...no italian here, japanese kinda sorta (I have japanese wife)...but I'm an avid F1 fan of many years (though not a Micheal Schumacher fan...but I LOVE ferrari...Give me Montoya and Truili, Kimi and Sato too..and you gott love rubens as well) from NYC who has been playing GT3 for about 1.5 years now but only recently found the world of online GT3 discussion (I was lurking her for a few weeks)...I bought a logitech wheel and a 4th memory card for my ps2 last week and restarted GT3 for the 4th time...

Now I'm racing "online"

So ya, I'm excited...hahaha.

I'll be putting a few hours of testing/setup time in tonight to begin my first "race" challenge.

:-)

After about 5 laps with the first car, T's are:
T1: '16.343
T2: '35.056
T3: '53.873
*EDIT*
New Car.. About 10 laps into it..
T1: '15.955
T2: '33.458
T3: '51.796

After a quick session:
16.204
34.064
52.469

Welcome to you, scuderia. :)
And HareTurtle. Good to see you're back. 3'rd division has been really thin the last 2 weeks. ;)

Thanks NielsG! Maybe we'll have more racers than podium spots this week.

Fooled around with the suspension a little, though I have no idea how to tune a dirt car:

15.796 33.221 51.677

I've done just enough rally to complete the game, plus an odd spot here or there, but I'm enjoying this one so far. Might have to try another car or two.

How to tune a rally car.

***** at your navigator until he tells the mechanics to fix the problem.

I suppose that won't help here though. ;-)

i havnt done much rally either but with a quick session i have

T1: 15.550
T2: 33.375
T3: 52.024

Hi there!
I really don´t know how to tune a dirt car. I have little extra downforce and brakes and that helped a little.
T1: 15.6 T2: 33.5 T3: 51.7

And BTW, welcome to the series and good luck, scuderia229!👍

Any of you big rollers willing to share a few tips on tuning and technique? Iv been concentrating so much on the road racing in GT that iv been ignoring its other half
in short im not a fan of rally and am pretty useless at it!

Get a hold of one of Mr P's replay's:lol: Just keep it going straight

Well... technically I'm in Division One, so technically I'm a "big roller".

I have no advice. I hate this track. Sorry... But I'll run it a bit tonight and see where I'm at. A 32s T2 sounds PFG though... :D

well, i know the "big Rollers" thing is a bit gay:0
Any way iv been running quite clean T's and im still only getting T2's of 36.xxx and this is a bit worrying
But then again it could be the car im using

Famine mentioned in a post yesterday that the Rally Cars typically weigh in at 1250 kg, but mine all seem to be 1230 kg. Just wondering if this is a PAL/NTSC difference?

Just ran a few laps in the Evo VII Prototype from Week #47:

T1=15.9xx; T2 = 34.3xx; T3 = 53.2xx

I haven't yet changed the seettings from SSR 5 Wet (lowered suspension, stiff rear end, longer gearing), so I have some setting changes to make...
Anyone willing to post some settings or give advice?
Also, PWR = 2.715 (690+ miles), so I should probably switch to my unused Evo VII, or a different car. Anyone tried the Ruf CTR?

Personally, Im amazed right now... you are all doing well, but what amazes me is the crap I saw over at gt3times.

The record lap there in a subaru impreza prototype. :dropsjaw:

Damn there are some fast times over there. Racingline couldn't keep with those times.

I might run some, but I doubt it, I am an avid protestor of rally even being in gran turismo, but what the hell, you guys have your fun.
Till next week... later.

btw, if anyone wishes to enlighten me as towards how those times at "the times" are possible? I would really appreciate it. Pm or open board, just remember, no lap times to be mentioned in this thread. :D

if you do look at gt3times you need to dig down to around the 45th position for lap records on swiss alps to find the cars correct for this race, well a few at least, most cars there around the X'XX mark (i removed this, go look at the site if you care...I suppose NO LAP TIMES even means mile-stone laps of people not in this race) are just under our 2.5 PW/R limit...but you get ballpark ideas.

the top 40 times are just silly as are the cars that they are done with.

Nope. I made a mistype... :D As they say: "whoops"... :D

Anyway, looking at the Swiss Alps times at the 'Times, I see no problem at all with any of them. Jake, Mr. Derek and jimeez in particular just keep on proving themselves time and time again. As for Racing-Line not being able to keep up with them - well jimeez at least submits to Racing-Line. And the top Escudo time there - by BWARE IT'S ALIVE - is 2s faster than the top one at GT3T - by Jake E. AND it's been green-ticked.

If you then go to Racing-Line's TT8 times - Swiss Alps in a stock Impreza Prototype - you'll see that Mr.P holds the top time only marginally slower than I've managed so far in a car twice as powerful...

Edit: I should add that the top time at GT3T in the Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype is identical to the top time at Racing-Line in the Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype, since they were both submitted by the same person.

Switched to my old Subaru Impreza Prototype. PWR:2.546 Had to reload during my session, cause it's slowly rises. I've reloaded at approx 2.58.
Does anybody know if its got any significant influence on the cars performance?
Anyway its better then the EVO's 2:65

Increased downforce and played with suspension and got it down to:
15.688
33.063
51.383
