When trying to lose weight, sometimes all you need is a little motivation to keep going. That or some friendly competition. :D

That said, I invite all those interested in shedding a few (or more than a few) pounds to post their weights, preferably weekly. Being "accountable" to someone does wonders for keeping you on track, even (or especially) if they are complete strangers. :)

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to post your goal weight, with intermediate goals, if necessary.

At my heaviest, I clocked in at 207. As of 2 weeks ago I was down to 197 just by watching what I was eating, but I'd been stalled there for a few months. I wasn't going up or down, just plateaued. Then ten days ago I got incredibly sick with the flu and lost 9 pounds in 4 days. I'm using that as a springboard to continuing the weight loss. My ultimate goal is somewhere around 175-180, but that all depends on how much muscle gets added in the process. :sly:

Starting weight - 207
Current weight - 186
Goal weight - 175

Starting weight - *runs off the do calculation* 308 (Might've been higher, maybe 315.
Current weight - 253
Goal weight - 210

I'm 6"3, about 15 stone is right. Only 3 more to go, over half way.

That's a great start, Sureshot! Keep it up! Or down, as the case may be.

Correction to my first post - I was then 187.4. As of this morning, I'm at 186.8.

Closer and closer, a little at a time. :)

I haven't gotten a scale yet, but as soon as I can get my money order deposited I'll be down at the local Wally World to pick one up. I guess I can go ahead and start now and I'll check back in when I can.

Current Weight: 230 (as of last time I checked)
Goal Weight: 200

I don't think that's too bad a goal, most of the working out I do now involves zero cardio so if I can get into the habit of running these hills I think I could probably shed 10 lbs in no time.

Loon, 30 pounds is very doable, but instead of focusing on the entire 30, break it up into smaller goals. My goal for this week, as seen below, is to drop 1.2 pounds, but more would be fine, as well. :D

My official weigh-in's are on Wednesday (that's when I track them in Excel). This morning I'm 186.2, down 1.2 from last Wednesday. If I can do that again this week, I'll be at 185 flat, which I haven't seen in a very long time.

250.8lbs as I've just weighed myself. It was about 248 yesterday, but I've just eaten and I've got about a lb of clothes on....

Starting weight: 131 kilos (288 lbs., 20.62 stone)
Current weight: 125 kilos (275 lbs., 19.68 stone)
Goal weight: 86 kilos (189 lbs., 13.54 stone)

My goal is to weigh more or less what I did when I graduated from college, around eight years ago. Of course, back then I was 25 years old (it was my 2nd career), I ate really badly, but went to the gym at least 4 times per week. Since then I've eaten the same way and amount, but I do very little exercise.

I'm currently with a nutritionist and eating about 5 times per day (yum!). I'm playing padel (local hybrid of tennis and squash) on fridays and trying to get at least one more game during the week.

I'm at 123 kilos, but I've also lost 2 kilos in fat and gained 2.5 kilos in muscle. :D

Aye, I'm noticing that. Despite losing over a stone and a half since Christmas my shirt size hasn't gone down due to muscle. It's all been on the waist, legs and bum. Down to a 40" waist now, could fit in 39" if they did them...

I hear ya... I've lost massive volume. Gone from a tight 38" to a point where I can take them off without unbuttoning them. Been able to put on some other shirts as well.

I started going back to the gym last week as well.

That's awesome Nigel 👍

My nutritionist made me go every two weeks instead of once a week, so I'm due to go in mid-next week.t I'll know then how much I'm weighing... I got rid of weight machines ages ago.

Starting weight: 211
Current weight: 206
Goal weight: N/A

I'm quite surprised that I have lost 5 pounds already. Maybe two or three weeks ago I weighed around 206 so I'm practically back to square one, but i'm going to keep trying. As for my target weight, I honestly don't care what my weight is. I also cant say what I want my weight to be because once running gets easier, I'm going to setup my bench press and start on that as well. Just have to put away my G25 setup :(

They can be a hindrance that's for sure.

After a few weeks of long days at work (8am-5pm and then 9pm-1am and repeat) to get some large projects out, I'm up to 190 again. Looks like it's time to start buckling down again.

Starting Weight: 195
Current Weight : 160
Goal Weight : 150

I measure to about 5'7" and I've got a medium-large build, for being a girl. I dropped the 35lbs over a few months and was able to hold it there for quite some time (about a year now), and I'd like to finish what I've started. I'm 22 this month and not getting any younger. :sly: So, I'm in.

As I completely forgot about this thread, despite the fact that I started it, I figure it's time for an update. After yet a few more bad months, I crept back up to 197. On September 10 (as I weigh in on Wednesdays), I started keeping track of my weight (again). For a few weeks, I wasn't exercising but was attempting to watch my food intake a bit closer than in the past. In conjunction with that, because I'm entirely too dependent on visuals to keep me motivated, I set up an Excel spreadsheet to track weight and BMI using the U.S. Navy Circumference Method (see attached .zip file). If anyone would like to use the Excel file and needs help setting it up, feel free to ask.

As far as a weight update goes, this is how I've been doing:

The red line (goal) ends the middle of January because that is my anniversary and therefore when I want to be at my goal weight. The nice little upswing in the blue line (actual weight) at the ends is due largely to a business trip to Minneapolis last week. D'oh! So be it.

Well, it's been another 2 months and I have again (I know, I know) jumped back on the exercise train. As of Wednesday I was 191.4. I'm still shooting for around 175-180. As a bit of an added incentive, my insurance company has a program in place so I can earn up to $125 per year for following exercise programs, watching seminars, filling out surveys, etc.

Here's to a healthier 2009! 👍

When I felt I needed to Gain/Lose weight I did just this. I started around 128lb's at 5'6" then I went to around 140lb's after eating abit more a day and running, now I'm around 145lbs after going to the gym 5 day's a week and running the other two. I have a great build now, although could lose abit more fat...

Wednesday weigh-in - 191.2. Not as much as I would like to have seen, but I'm just getting started and it's still a loss!

Compound in that I have (at least I'm fairly certain I do) Cholinergic Urticaria and that limits how hard I can work out. It seems to get better the more I exercise, so that should hopefully be enough motivation to keep going. Currently it's fairly debilitating as I can only make it about 5-10 minutes on our elliptical machine before it starts up, but I can still make it through the 20 minute program. This morning was much better as I was able to push myself just a bit harder without having to slow down like last time. :)

Oh why not.

I haven’t done regular exercise all year, since I’ve been working and the gym I used to go to had rubbish opening hours. Before I went to the gym for the first time I was 112kg (247lbs), and got down to 96kg (211lbs). When I stopped I pretty quickly went up to 105kg (231lbs) and have been sitting on the for the past 8 or 9 months.

I’ve joined a new gym which opens at the end of January, so I’ll get back into it.

Starting weight: 105kg (231lbs)
Current weight: 105kg (231lbs)
Goal weight: 85kg (187lbs)

Currently at 230lbs/105KGs. BMI is under 29. Fairly happy with it, not really been trying for the last 4-5 months though. Cycling 4 miles every day I go into college is helping.
