Anything, whether it be dominating races, close finishes, anything-like my Shelby Cobra getting spun out and back to speed by the same opponent, then running a crossover on another car to win. (Whew!)

I think we're suppposed to discuss our weirdest race in this thread? GT2....I can't think of any.

My weirdest GT1 race was at Clubman Route 5 in the Clubman Cup. I forget what I was driving but as I won I slid across the finish line. The MR2 ran into me, then flew 40 feet into the air! I mean...way above the track. Then it landed on all fours. Yeah that was uh, pretty weird.

I dunno about GT2... But this one time in GT4 I span before the finish line about 180 degrees and the 2nd place car pushed me for the last 20 feet or so.

The most unforgettable race (for me) was when i raced with my friend at Super Speedway. He was using a Suzuki Escudo and i was using a Toyota GT-One Road Car.It was a 2 lap race i think. When we started,i think he out accelerated me into the 1st corner, then i overtook him at the 2nd corner (the covered roof part) and started to pull away. Then on the last lap on the last corner,i spun out! Then i tried to recover quickly and try to block my friend from overtaking. It was a dash to the finish. But unfortunately, since he has the better car,he out accelerated me to the finish. The gap was about 0.043 seconds!.how amazing was that? But even till now,i still have regrets about that race.... :guilty:

I won a 5-lap GT-All Star race at Laguna with my fully-tuned Mazda Cosmo. It handles like a pig, but here's how it happened: The leading Ford GT40 Race Car spun out at the end of the Corkscrew, taking out the GT-One in the process (which mysteriously spun out two more times during the race, finishing 4th). The Jaguar XJ220 hit the GT-One once more, which collected the R390 Racer. I passed the Lister Storm in the commotion. The GT40 spun again, and just never found its form after spinning again, so my Cosmo had a good 20 second lead over the GT40.

Perhaps what was even more odd was the fact the Lister storm finished in 3rd place, as it's usually a cellar-dweller in last (or 5th if the Alfa Touring Car also enters the race).

Close finishes are always the best. 👍

True. I don't think I've ever seen a Lister do better than 5th or 6th! That is actually one of the more humorous points of GT2, the way some super-cars totally bite it down the corkscrew. :ouch:

I had a race (GT2 now) in which I was at Trail Mountain. I forget what I was driving and what series I was doing, but I think it was a Camaro Z28. Anyways, I got a bit of a lead over the 2nd place car, so as I run towards the finish line, i do another one of my famous slides....

....and stop short of the finish!!! :scared: The 2nd place Ai car is rolling thru the last chicane so what do i do? I FINISH THE RACE IN REVERSE! Luckily once I got my head oriented I realized I was facing backwards so I jammed the triangle till I won! 💡

Parnelli: I did that once, but I came in sixth. I've also spun before the last lap, thinking it was the finish, and had to work hard to catch up.

My unforgettable race was in the Impreza cup or whatever, on trial mountain reverse, where I was in fourth in a stock impreza sti sedan, and on the last turn I went over the little grass part, soared in the air, bumped another car, and finished first.

I forgot the 80s races were 3 laps, so I already stopped after Lap 2...timer didnt stop ticking...no result....oh snap!

That's happened to me too :guilty: You're so used to 2-lappers, then all a sudden you got an extra lap! :ouch:

I once won a Mitsubishi Lancer race with 0.001 seconds. Too bad you only get 10.000 for those, so much effort for so little. :ouch:

Oh i see, that is really close. But i think other people could finish at 0 seconds (forget which thread than was,but i think it was not GT2) but i wish to hear the full story.

Alright then, another weird race in GT2 was also in some race at Rome Circuit.I was racing around, and i think i got up to 2nd place or something (forgot what car did i use) and an Audi s4 (i think) overtake me at the second last corner.Desperate to get a good result,i tried to go through the last corner flat out. Then when i did,i hit the Audi.Guess what?My car went through the car and my car got stuck in the Audi.I can't believe it and all of my effort was gone :guilty: I finished 4th.....(the a.i. pulled me to the finish line with him) But i guess thats the problem with earlier GT games, too many glitches!!!

Running first at Trial Mountain, with 1 lap to go, went over the finish line, and altough I was 1st, I was 2 seconds behind?

Won the race through, but it was kinda odd!

Once my bro was racing in the muscle car race on laguna and as soon is he went to the corkscrew we just saw one of the AI cars flying about 50ft above us :S

I've also spun before the last lap, thinking it was the finish, and had to work hard to catch up.

I've done that multiple times. The only difference is that I was usually far enough ahead to where I didn't lose the lead or too much time.

I've seen that happen before. Once I was also at Rome and I remember a couple Ai cars getting stuck together for almost the entire backstretch. Then they rebounded apart and hit the opposite guardrails!

I ran an Opel Calibra in an Arcade Race (off my memory card) in Apricot Hill, ran off course, finished first, but was classified as finishing 41 seconds behind the lead car. There was a notice reading, "Out of Course" during the race, and there was some sort of time in brackets, punctuated by an exclamation mark.

Perhaps disqualification was present in GT2 in earlier prototypes, before PD ran out of time?

In Apricot Hill in Time Trial mode...if you run off course in the little chicane, your time was deemed invalid. For whatever reason, it did this in that race. In this case you had to do another lap, and ultimately lost the race.
