Is it just my inbox, or have email spammers been getting stranger and stranger?  I just got one today that I could hardly keep from laughing at.  Take a look...

Has someone damaged your tree?

You might be entitled to the replacement cost.

Even a small tree is worth THOUSANDS of dollars!

I take great pride in offering my services as a Horticultural Consultant.
We provide tree appraisals and expert testimony regarding tree values.

Whether a historical landmark or a tree in your yard,
if someone has damaged it, we can appraise it to the highest of value.

Tell me your situation...

Reply with your name, address and phone number. You
will be contacted shortly!

please reply with remove in
the subject line.

Honestly, how many people do they really expect will give their name, address, and phone number to some unkown person on the internet?  Get real, spammers.

I usually don't even read the email unless I know who it is from.  I just open and delete.  Must say--I HATE SPAM.  But it'll only keep getting worse.  Example:  Get ready for spam on your cellphones and beepers--except this time it will be costing YOU money to hear the SPAM (you have to pay for the phone call to realize that it is SPAM).

Yeah, I don't usually read it either, but this one's subject was Someone hurt your tree?.  I couldn't resist.  :)

Cell phone spam will really suck.  It's fun to play with telemarketers, though.  :D

Ohhh, yeah, those are really bad.  The Hotmail Bulk Mail filters do a pretty good job on most spam, but I think I get a lot because my email address is on several websites.  They actually have programs that you can run to crawl the web like a search engine and just gather email addresses.

I have all my email filter anything that says Loan or debt.  It seems to work pretty good.

I didn't know that you could state what it filters. I think I will have to make some changes.

Just click on options and then Filters.  You can have all kinds of criteria and you can have the messages sent to any folder in your account.

That's strange.  Do you have your account at www.hotmail.co.uk or www.hotmail.com?

I have it at the .com variety. When I signed up, they didn't have .co.uk because it just transfered to the .com

Jeezus. That question has been asked eleventy billion times in the Q&C forum, and you've been here long enough to know how to search.
