Dumb thought I had yesterday, what’s the point in having silver times (besides pretty little credits) for missions and licensing in previous GT I remember you were rewarded with 3 cars in mission and in license. For my it’s a pity although I have golded full normal licenses I am a Silver driver in most of the missions and master licenses.

In terms of rewards (cars, that’s what we are here for) silver means nothing in GT7.

Just a thought!!!

The series as a whole is pretty inconsistent with this.

GT1 and 3 have only gold reward cars, 2 and 6 are like 7 with bronze and gold reward cars, 4 and 5 are the only games that give you a prize car for all silver in licenses.

In PD’s universe, everything runs on a different logic, one that might look strange to us, but not to them. Silver medals getting no rewards? Of course. Bronze deserves a reward, not silver.

And what about rewards through invitations? Oh yes. You might get one, someday, maybe, It would be apparently random, but no, it would be PD-random. You’ll need years to collect all rewards with this system. But this is the way. This is PD.

In Missions and Circuit Experience, Silver does award some credits separatly from Bronze and Gold.

As for Licenses, yeah they're pretty useless

Without silver times the step from bronze to gold would be too big. Sure, there's no reward for silver times, but if you're struggling to reach gold it at least feels like you're improving when you manage to go from bronze to silver.

Just so you feel good that you didn't get Bronze...
Know what? your comment made me achieve al the silvers I can, just for that feeling and I have to say some of the Master licenses are tought to get silver.

Bronze is the participation award for those who only want to skim through the game. Gold is there for those completists and also for those who want to learn to get better at it. Silver is just there to encourage you to push yourself harder. If you were to be awarded for silver (aside from those segments that award some credits) there'd be less encouragement for a push for gold.

I just finished my Master License, which TBH seems to be there for no other reason than fluffer content but anyways, I gave up and skimmed through with Bronze rather than chase all the golds because of the stupid snow tests. I never asked for rallying or snow in a GT game, it's a totally different skill set and feels all sorts of wrong in this gme so I can barely get bronze despite often golding the rest. So I bailed and skimmed because why waste time if I cannnot get them all gold anyway?

I see silver times as a steps to gold : my first licence test runs are bronze then the next 2-3 are silver and it motivates me to push for gold, shows me I'm not too far off.

If you gold all tests other than dirt/snow I feel like you are skilled enough, you "can" gold them too. Just seems like you really dislike rallying on Gran Turismo which I understand.
What works for me in rally is turning in earlier than on road to make the apex and control the sliding on exit.

I can gold some very easily, others take more work but other than really loose road cars I can get gold if i plug away. Snow though, yeah, barely scrape through for Bronze, i don't have th emuscle memry, it'd take me untold hours so not worth the grief tbh.

If Gold = "You mastered it!" and Bronze = "good enough", what would silver be? "Better than the bare minimum"?
