What an Absurd and Prescribed Racing Game...

GT7 comes as an absurd and diabolical racing game because of it's AI.

The AI follows none of the in-game physics. Especially with these new Gr.1 races. At Suzuka they run on softs that never wear out. At Daytona, they abuse track limits and never get any penalties applied to them.

Also, as usual they still hamper and hinder you, and try to drive through you as if you're not there.

In order of this game presenting a challenge, it has quite literally been programmed to cheat on you.

While it doesn't make it right, there's a lot of racing games out there where the AI will cheat in some way to make things competitive and GT has always been one of them. However I do agree with the penalties, they should receive those for the same things we do.

There are very few games that doesnt have the AI cheating to be some sort of competitive to human players.
The actually bad thing about the AI is not the cheating, but how stupid they feel.

I think that Ai is not bad in GT7, but PD should make it less aggressive. AI attacks me very often. Even on the line in Daytona AI crashes into the side of my car. I don't understand it. Some races go good, but sometimes it's like I play in Carmageddon.
I understand contacts for win, for place, but AI really goes like he doesn't see your car and try to go through your car. Specially I have a lot of contacts in Gr3 first lap. I need to restart some races for several time to finish first lap.

But I must to say that AI is much-much better than in GT Sport. It was too passive and drive like a ghost in GT Sport. I can't play GT Sport anymore cos of boring AI.

How many years have PD had in trying to create an AI that is worthy of a half-decent racing sim'?

Just think of this for a minute, PD have literally programmed this rogue AI to actually drive into you, and through you.

That to me says a lot about PD's dodgy mentality and it's lack of regard or naus in creating a fair racing simulator.

I have not seen a single instance where an AI's car would give any quarter to the player. Even a blue flag is a question mark to them!

I would like to know why the decision was made for missions to fail because the AI crashed into us from behind.

My opinion is, if you want to make such a decision, have the AI to back it up.

Yup that race was horrible. AI ramming etc and cutting corners with no penalties. And again like most people say, starting from the back all the bloody time is trash. I did the race in one of the RB cars on a 1 stop strategy and had to dive bomb to get the win. Don't know if there was a better car and strategy but I needed to make some bat**** crazy overtakes to win. Just all seems bananas. Don't think any Gr1 can win this race?

AI is not that terrible as some people say, it's not very good of course but not as bad as GT Sport, GT5 and GT6....the main problem is that they're too agressive, and another one is that they lack proper damage and penalty on them (those two things are a factor only for the player, but not for AI opponents).

I would definitely like Sopy in a future update, though.

I remember seeing a fellow's video on YT showcasing some pre-release game footage of the AI, and he was analysing it's behaviour.
He thought it looked great and that the AI was basically doing great things in the race.

I left a comment stating the fact that he should not get his hopes up or believe in what he sees because PD have never been able to programme any decent behaviour in it's AI.

Now look at what we've got.

You would have thought that with the release of this game on a next-gen console they'd go ball's out in programming an AI that behaved reasonably well and gave a good account of itself in a race...
