I cant speak for the rest of you, but in recent light of certain speculation being confirmed in the latest news entry, my pants have been positively moistened.

Such is my impatience to get a hold of this game i put it to all of you ...

'To Import, or not to import', that is the question.

But wait, assuming there is a separate release for EU/US, and understanding that JP have NTSC region discs, i'm wondering if you would still get one, and what the implications of owning one would be for multiplayer. Are there any, what would they be, and if everyone here bought an import would there be an issue anyway?

Whats it to be ladies and gentleman? ...

If there's still no release date for US in March, I'm importing the game (just to play arcade and online mode). I will wait for my US copy for the career.

Thank you for putting up the link.

Nope - regardless of relative delays and whoever gets it first, I'm waiting for my region to release before ordering (EU). When Japan finally gets the game, I'll be happy just knowing it is out and reading peoples impressions of it.

You don't have to read, you have icons for the most part and some translations here and there in English in the game itself. You worry too much about it :D

I will import a copy as well, even thou I don't speak a single word of Japanese.
All I am waiting for is for play asia to start the pre-orders.

What's an extra $100 US for a game series you love?
Not much considering you will get a lot of playtime before other countries get their releases, like for the US it might be in the summer or it might be later, so I will import it then buy the US release on day 1 as well.

After having imported several GT games I alway told myself not to import GT5 because of the limitations the non English UI.

But...... as the topic starter I also wet my pants.... so yes I will import :)

Watashi wa hanasu koto ga deki nai nippon.
(Translation: I can't speak Japanese.)
Therefore, I won't import it. A US import, though, sounds inviting.

Pfft, who reads in a racing game :P So it might take you a few minutes to navigate the menus, and I'm sure we can start a thread on translating things like the tuning and upgrades menu ;)

Totally!! even if the layout/interface are diferent from the past titles, GT have a logic way to reach the things and a lot of confirmation questions!

I import, i just cant wait.

Q: im living in Argentina, where i can import? ebay?

Sorry my english.

Start enter Time trial etc. sections in english ..Just like prologue. i predict 30 percent english of japanese version.
Kazu thought the people will import j version.

I'm going to florida late may/early june so if the US release date is before the euro one and before or during that time thats where I will get GT5. The japanese version would be too much hassle with all the translating and other issues as well.

I'm going to import only if the U.S. version is due to release a minimum of two months later than the other versions.

The great thing about gtplanet is that there will be a translation up in a day or so of most of the menus etc. Import for me :D

.

You speak more Japanese than me^^ LOL!

I'll only import if the EU version is released more than 6/ 8 weeks after the JP version.

Only way I'd import was if there was 6 month or more wait after the JPN release until the EU release, and I'd only play arcade mode and online, but in order to play online with a decent car I'd have to break into the career mode. I don't want to try that with a version I can't understand everything. So I voted no.

I don't know yet, i'll wait to see the realese date of the US version...
And now that Heavy Rain is about to ship and i'm going take it, let's say that my pocket isn't so large as i want. =]
But if is like 2~3 mounths of delay, i'll get the japonese version no matter what.
