What are the numbers below the rev counter?

They look like a separate counter for something else when they're sitting there by themselves below the rev line.

It's the same HUD, but I use the hood/roof cam.

Ah. Yeah. It's the same as it was in GT5:

They moved the numbers below the gauge while they were redesigning the HUD to make it less intrusive than it was in GT5.

Silly redesign IMO.
They look clogged up and doesn't match the lines that are integrated in the rev counter.
They are actually more intrusive now, because I sit there wondering what the, seemingly random, numbers represent.

Well, I didn't say they did the best job at it.

Of note is that they still didn't fix the scaling of the RPM range that has been a problem since GT5: P, even though they redesigned the entire gauge and made it much more compact.

If I'm not mistaken the size of the tachometer doesn't change in width. That's why the numbers don't line up. Each car has a different rev amount and limits so the numbers are in their approximate position based on that.

Ok, thanks for clearing it up guys.
GT6 may be released, but there's still work cut out for PD.

That's the absolute truth. There's so much more content for them to put in and so many bugs to fix. I just hope they get to it. The updates were hot and heavy at first but now we're all sitting around waiting for patches.

I never really paid attention to the numbers, I just look for when the bar hits the red part, lol.

The numbers are sorta important though. Depending on the vehicle it may behoove you to short shift at a specific RPM to get the most out of that vehicle. I always use bumper cam though so I don't experience this issue.
