What are you doing in lieu of the 2004-2005 season?

Lately I've just been playing a lot of NHL 2005 for PS2. I haven't been playing much hockey since last year was my last season in minor hockey and I didn't feel like persueing and of the junior teams that invited me to training camp. I'm lucky enough to have a WHL team where I live though. So what are you guys doing to help fill the void left by the lockout?

I never watch hockey religiously, but I do like catching the odd game at home or with friends, and hockey sure does go good with beer! So I'm not as torn up about the strike as some hard-core fans I know, but that doesn't mean I don't still think it sucks ass.

I'm really missing this season... It's my first year not playing hockey in a league either. Luckily shinny is free for goalies.

It's really starting to get to me. All I have now to get by is the NFL, and I love the Steelers, but not like I love the Maple Leafs.

I'm just hoping they'll start playing again by the time this year is over, but right now it's looking like it's going to be a long time.

There was a poll on ESPN.com asking when people would miss the NHL due to the lockout, and 60-70% said that they wouldn't miss it at all. It's really a shame that people don't appreciate the NHL here in America.

I really miss the NHL. Atleast I have season tickets to Michigan, so I get to see them play 2 nights a week.

I'm watching the Celtics and the NFL.

Watching hockey on TV is boring, but I do miss going to see the Bruins. Hockey is the one sport where it seems so much more exciting when you are there at the arena.

My dealership isn't offering free tickets to us. So the lockout stinks. On th other hand, people are actually paying attention to the Miami Heat for the first time in a decade.

I've never been a big hockey-on-TV fan, but it's a lot more fun watching it in person.

I've been forced to lower my standards to watching lower forms of sports like NFL and MBA... I've caught the British touring car championships a couple of times, great stuff... what nascrap should be if they can't keep it on the road!

edit: OMG! I can't believe it! It was almost the best x-mas present ever! Watching hockey on X-mas day! YEAH BABY! WHOO! HOO! yeah so what it was the 2005 (05? eh who cares?) Jr. Championships USA against... ? :homer voice: ah... hockey...

I can't believe how bad it's gotten... I almost forgot what it felt like to watch a real sport!

I start up a season with my friends in roller hockey again. I remember why I don't do it the Spring, it's so damn hot. We've played one game so far and it sucked ass since I was playing with a broken blade. My damn backup stick was too short also so after the game I got this cheap ass blade. Fast forward to today, I go to take my first slap shot with the thing and it breaks full off. So I got a little bit more expensive blade that's COMPOSITE! I still miss my original one though because it wasn't that expensive (for that kind of blade) and it was solid! I think graphite and kevlar? They don't make it anymore 👎

I just realized why the above happened and that I got everything illegal done to me at drop in hockey. It's Friday the 13th!
