To answer The Strokes' musical question, this is definitely it for me as far as Bryan Ferry's solo career is concerned.

He's released so much material under his own name that his ten albums with Roxy Music seem like a Bowie-esque Tin Machine blip in comparison. I even had to change the name of the shared folder from Roxy to Ferry.

But he's a talented arranger, performer and collaborator and I like all his stuff so far except maybe last year's experimental spoken-word album with Amelia Barratt. Luckily for me, though, he brought out the instrumental version a month later.

I completely missed Gartside slinking back to Rough Trade in '06 to release a home recorded album.

My expectations are much lower for albums three and four than for the first two.

Happily I was mistaken and they're both way better than I thought they'd be. These are great pop songs.

“EVERYBODY HUSTLE Disco 45s on Independent Labels 1973-‘79”, one of the many cassettes I’ve bought from local Seattle record stores in the last seven or so years. They’re largely hand-made by Calvin Johnson, the founder of Olympia’s legendary K Records label, and member of The Beat Happening. They’re made from 45s he’s collected over the last 40+ years. I’m playing it on my retro-style surf green cassette deck/AM/FM radio by Studebaker.

Paul Quinn & The Independent Group's two albums The Phantoms & The Archetypes and Will I Ever Be Inside Of You.

They're a supergroup formed from members of Aztec Camera, The Bluebells, Orange Juice, The Silencers and Lloyd Cole's Commotions.

I'm not really a fan of the Postcard Records scene but Phantoms is a nice set of relaxing croons that wouldn't be out of place on one of Bryan Ferry's myriad solo albums.

Never heard of them. Definitely checking them out.

Chick Corea - Overjoyed. Sorry about the fawning video; I'd've preferred to see footage of Chick playing.
