I also bought the art book by Kosuke Hayashi, the film's Art Director and principal background artist - he would later work for Studio Ghibli on 'The Boy And The Heron' (aka 'How Do You Live?' In Japan), and it too is breathtakingly beautiful.

I watched the pilot of Lanterns (HBO Max) and I'm intrigued so I'll keep watching, and later today I will watch the latest episode of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.

Sisu 2 was way over the top. A fun movie, but the first one is better.

I loved it. It's like the director ran out of plausible ideas and they had to put a rocket up his arse to finish the movie. Seems like he had to step through broken glass to get there.

Pom Poko (1994) - Isao Takahata (Studio Ghibli)

Even by SG standards, this film is pretty wild - nothing like what I was expecting, and nothing like Takahata's other films that I've seen (Grave Of The Fireflies, and The Tale Of Princess Kaguya)... that's a pretty high bar by anyone standards, and although I don't think this is quite on the same level as GOTF, it is not a film that I'm going to forget in a hurry... it's nuts in pretty much every sense of the word :lol:
 
Never mind Spiderman et al, the biggest 4k release of the year is nearly upon us. And looking drop (un)dead gorgeous...: :drool:

Hoping that the cinema release includes somewhere practical for me to see it (last year's showings of The Curse of Frankenstein were midweek and miles away!). But I'll be pre-ordering the collectors edition anyway [the collectors edition of The Curse of Frankenstein last year was outstanding]
 
Reacher S01E01: Welcome To Margrave. I already watched that season but need a refresher before hopefully going on to the rest of the series.

Just finished with first, and only, season.
Excellent show with good story and great fights!
There where be for sure another season.
 
Lanterns (HBO Max) up to episode 3, and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, also up to the latest episode. I also watched on Netflix the miniseries about the Lockerbie bombing, and I've watched the first episode of a similarly themed series on Amazon Prime, this one featuring Colin Firth as a grieving father investigating the bombing.
