Seeing that i'm Belgian, i try to honor the tradition here in Spain with the Belgian beers i can get.

Brown beer: Leffe brown, one of the best
Other Belgians which you should try if you can get them where you are: Duvel, Grimbergen and Affligem.

The normal pils i like here locally is Alhambra.

If you visit Belgium; i can also recommend Brugse zot, Karmeliet triple and Kasteelbier 11°

All the beers i've tasted are just as gross so i'll check if they sell any of those you listed to try them out

I prefer vodka, whiskey or rum though.

Carlsberg, Tiger or Heineken will do, almost any light beer, I'm not picky.
I don't like stouts though, the dark color just turns me away. :yuck: (I'm weird, I drink Coke & Pepsi fine. :odd:)

Beer. My favorite type of alcohol. :D I just don't know how to enjoy hard liquor.

If I've got the money, it's Leffe blonde. If I haven't, then it's either Wychwood's Hobgoblin or Old Speckled Hen. I used to drink a lot of Guinness, but I found it too fattening, so I stick to beers now.

Has to be Guiness, nothing else comes close for me. Although on a really hot day a Desperados really hits the spot.

Well, it sure isn't this crap! Two 6 packs for $5. Shouldn't expect much, and I didn't.

I'm not fan of Guinness. It lacks foam, is too sweet and is quite soft.
I do like Sagres. It is brilliant! I also like Super Bock and Heineken (although I find Heineken soft)

I told this multiple times, it's legal to drink here in Portugal from the age of 16, so I'm not going against the AUP.

Well, under the obviously large umbrella of "beer" already established here, these frequent my mug:

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Colorado microbreweries.

In general, something with Pale Ale, or IPA in the name. Trappist beers are also quite good - the Rochefort 8 is probably my favourite of those right now. Still doing research

Since i mostly drink pils, and the occasional Belgian when i'm in a fancy mood, i've been thinking in buying some cheap beers in a supermarket called Lidl over here (i shop there for food so). I found a cheap pils that didn't taste bad but it had additives in it which i didn't trust, and a quick internet search confirmed it was some filthy stuff, so i looked for one that just had normal ingredients (water, malts and hops), and i found this one:

It's good of taste and is about 50 cents a liter cheaper than the mainstream Alhambra beer, so I did some quick calculations and to drink this beer on a daily basis would mean I would end up saving 200 bucks on a yearly basis

Innis and Gunn is the business! :D

Shame they use clear bottles though.

Another one I always like is Duvel, especially when aged for a year or so.

Every Trappist ale I've tried is pretty awesome, those being Orval, Westmalle, and Chimay. Chimay red and blue are the only Trappist ales I can find here normally.

I'm not a fan of beer, preferring cider, but my choice is usually one of the following:

Kirin is a fine beer, lovely taste, but once the last quarter gets a bit warm it gets nasty. Ice cold it's fine but other than that I find it off-putting.

Tsingtao is good, but I still think Yanjing is better.

Having drank a LOT of both I find Yanjing to have more of a variety of beers and some of the lower end products aren't too nice. Tsingtao, however, seems pretty consistent in quality across the brand.

Bump!

Getting drunk behind the virtual wheel tonight, and i can say this is one of the best Belgian beers you can get:

They are selling it now in one of the Spanish supermarkets over here, so that means the brewer is finally exporting this liquid gold. It won many beer awards like the world beer award of 2008, european beer award, the world beer cup and and the european beer star (yes they all exist), so if you are lucky enough to find it near you, do not hesitate!

I think I'd have to go with Stella Artois as my overall favorite.
