So far, I've only purchased one elite crate for about 100K one of the 75K ones and a 20K Mod crate.
The expensive crates haven't given anything exceptional and usually only 1 mod, so it's difficult to recoup the $$.
My 20K crate gave me 4 very useable Mod Cards to help generate extra $$.

I was just curious what others are doing with the $$ for crate thing.

(Please don't turn the thread into a Hate thread on Turn 10 and micro transactions. Those threads are already out there)

I mostly go for a Premier Mod crate every time I have less than 8 unique mods. I also go for the 355k crates occasionially if I have over a million

I mostly buy the mod crates. Basic ones provide good mods for short races and Premier for longer ones.

I've only bought a couple of the 355,000 crates, but got my money's worth on both occasions.

I once bought one of the expensive crates and got a crap car and some crap gear. None after that.
I just buy the Premier Mod crate endlessly now, and it pays for itself many times over.

Thanks Rikki. I think that's advice I was looking for. I don't want to spend 300K fir a car I don't want, I'm not into the whole racing suit thing. If I buy a crate, I want it to make the money back...

I mostly but the premier mod crates now, I love stacking 3 mods for getting perfect turns. If you do a long race with 3 perfect turn mods and VIP you can get over130K on a long 10 lap bathurst race i got close to 200K. I like to keep my money around 2 million at the moment so when I get over that I buy one the expensive crates, Best thing I ever got from a crate so far was a 1 use legendary night race mod(70% credit bonus)

I rarely get crap mods that I don't want to use.
Ordinarily I get a few 50 - 60% "stay on track for a lap" mods that have 3 uses each. Occasionally I'll get 80% and the odd 90%, and when used in a decent length race I usually earn upwards of 200,000Cr per race. Easy money.

I haven't bought a single crate yet. Maybe I'll start, but just for mods. I still need an Achievement for mods. I normally just use mods for races over an hour in length in Free Play, but I rarely have enough free time for that.

For the most part, I buy the Mod crates only, The Basic for 20,000 is the best value and you can get RARE and uncommon Mods. The Premium gives you the most though, 5 Mods, and I just today got a Legendary from one. But I find the other Mod crates can give you something nifty every once in a while. True, you can get a crappy car, and often times you can get a duplicate car (if you have a lot of cars already in your collection), you can sell it back immediately to at least recoup some of your losses. Plus in most of the non Mod Crates, you get the badges, which to me are practically worthless. The Driver gear has at least some appeal. But the real value in the mixed crates are the Mods. I find you can get different Mods than you do in the Basic or Premium Crates, maybe not in terms of return, (40 %, 50 % or 60%) but in terms of the challenge, (Start from the Back of the Pack etc.) In my opinion going for the more expensive crates every once in a while helps to break the monotony and can give you a nice Surprise every now and then.

I have the same exact habit. Don't care a single iota about driver suits or badges.

I enjoy the driver suits more than I should lol, but don't really care for the badges. They're lame as hell and I figure most people like myself just use their countries flag.

Still annoyed I have every flag suit except the country of my origin lol. Gonna wait for the next time the driver suit special crates show up.

Bought a few 300k crates, each time got a badge I don't care about, a suit I don't need, a car I had no interest in and a couple mods. Basically the worst investment in the game for me.

I typically purchase the 50k crates for mods.

If you are just grinding through short races in Career, the 50k mod crate will barely net you a return, as in less than 10% sometimes. Change to long or extreme length (whatever they call the longest setting) and you'll get some good cash and XP ROI out of the mod crate.
