What did you do in GT7 today?

Bought the Porsche 962 from Legends, thought 1.5M was good value.

Then put it round Le Mans in the WTC800 5 lap race. Full ballast, power restrictor down to bring it under 800PP, RH, FM4, and I won by over a minute. It does seem to understeer a bit in low speed corners, but I’m sure that can be dialled out a little with a bit of tuning. Great car. Very fast, even bumped up to 1050kg IIRC and down on stock power. But…

The ‘hood’ cam on this particular car is more like a roof cam. I hate it. You lose all sensation of speed, and it takes some readjustment when you’re used to the camera being lower. I still don’t understand why they do this 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyway, daily workout completed, got a 4 star ticket… got 10k 😂

But it’s no biggie. Been putting a lot of time in at the 1hr Spa, and Sardegna, and I’ve got a decent stash of credits now.

EDIT: The understeer was probably down to the ballast. Forgot about that. I didn’t even bother balancing it, so I’ll try having a play around with that.

EDIT 2: It was FM4, not FM1.

Tried the first ‘Human Comedy’ race. Wanted to try it purely by myself (not checking strategies on here) and managed 3rd - was second but got overtaken on 2nd last lap at the final hairpin! Anyone who has ran it more than once - is the weather predetermined or is it random like the World circuit events?

Finally it's here , so I decided to this had to be done , now then all I have to do is wait for the other Group C cars to re appear and i'll collect them all . But i'm happy to have this 962 C in my garage at last .

I can imagine these 3 Generations arguing over who is or was the best :dopey:

Great stuff man!

I had the same issue at Lemans with the rain as well, but for me it started raining on lap 3, and though I have wets and inters for the RCZ, a pit would have completely ruined my chances at a win. Luckily, although grip was lessened by a bit, I was able to manage on RH and the wet meter barely got above the first mark at its worst, so the slicks were able to carry me to the win, passing the WRX on the last lap in the Porsche corners.

That same Viper gave me fits throughout two of the laps because he was deadly slow in the corners, but would run me down and pass me on the hilariously long straights of Lemans. Despite its legend, it remains a track I don't have much fun with.

I also had a restart at Mt. Panorama due to an AI pitting me in the esses coming down off the top of the mountain, but it sent me into the wall and spun me backwards and left me facing back up the hill against the wall in the middle of the pack and it would have been a stupid chore to come back from that!

I'm glad you had fun with it, and got some really sweet shots of your races. I was so irritated by the end of it that I didn't save anything from the races, but I'm definitely going back with a bigger hammer soon just to redo it for fun without all the stress! I'll probably give it a shot in my 700hp F430 "street car" that's been tuned to within an inch of its life. Should make for an interesting series with that.

Thanks for the great post!
Yea, it's all in good fun. Went back and did it again last night in the Aston just to keep thing contestant. Had the exact same results: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st.

No rain at LeMans. The P2 at Bathurst hurt as I was driving like a maniac, making passes where one shouldn't be making passes all while keeping off other cars and walls. Was right behind the WRX going into that last, tight left before the back straight and made a mess of it. Went from .3" behind to .8 behind and couldn't make it up. I will say, the headlights on the Aston V12 suck; makes seeing in the dark difficult. Tried adding HD LEDs but it wouldn't let me.

One thing that was cool this go is there was a lot of mix-up within the first three races. By the time we hit N24 I was up by enough points I could've finished last and still won the championship... but where's the fun in that?! That BMW was in beast mode this round; it was cool fighting other cars up front other than the WRX, Supra, and NSX.

I am going to do this with some more stock Gr3 cars & see how it goes.

On a completely unrelated note - bought the 962 last night. Only waiting for one more Legend car: the McLaren GTR.

Got a Hyundai Genesis coupe Gr.4 out of a 4 star ticket.

Bought another 962 and tried converting it to a road version with Ballast and Power Restrictor.

Ended up with 388 HP and around 2300 lbs with the ballast around 40 points to the front. Threw Sports Hard on it and the handling is on rails on Nurburgring.

600++ PP so sadly still couldn't enter 600 PP races but at least it felt really nice to drive.

First attempt at the Spa 24h enduro - two bouts of rain put paid to my chances of a debut victory, and should have got 3rd place but for an incident on the final lap:

In my defence, I'd passed two cars on the outside of Eau Rouge in previous laps but had to try going past on the inside. I pretty much had the pass lined up but the AI stuck to its line and hit me, causing a massive crash.

That said, I held on for 4th and amazingly got the Clean Race Bonus, in spite of a few other spins due to the conditions.

Typical AI BS. And as usual, the AI is not effected in the least.

The AI takes Raidillon and Eau Rouge so bad it's a joke. And, somehow I seem to magically catch them there all the time (I'm convinced it's not a coincidence). So, what I started doing is going to their left and cutting Eau Rouge to the left; basically just to get away from the AI. I don't even care if I lose the CRB because of that.

In teh Spa race of WTC800, I get stuck behind an AI there basically every lap. If I followed them at their speed to keep it clean, I'd lose so much time I'd never win that race (in a stock, Gr3 car anyway). Again, I am convinced it's setup so an AI is in the way there virtually every lap. If the AI want to play dirty then I will too. Eff em.

As I grinded my little heart out on the tokyo expressway with the tomahawk to finally be able to buy the Jag D-type, I was thinking of the glitch in GT5 were you could get outside of the map and go under the start/finished line on the 1 lap of Nurb 24hr race and do a little circle over the start line and finished the race in 3 mins and get something like 700k...

- Bought the Porsche 962 C from the Legends dealer and another GT-R GT500 to put a livery on.

- I went into Custom Race and ran a Trial Mountain 2 Hour, the same endurance race from GT3. I drove in the Pennzoil GT-R and ended up putting 203 miles on the car.

- Bought all unowned Mazdas from BC. Now at 246 unique cars.

- I’ve also decided to run the Tokyo race twice a day so I can keep a nice flow of credits coming in.

The clean race bonus is only canceled when you collide with an AI on the same lap as you.
Lapping the AI or hitting a barrier the bonus is not canceled.

I did the WTC 800 60 minute event at Spa. I just bought my 08' Nissan Xanavi GT500 and thought it would be perfect for this event with its 783PP.

That race was CRAZY.

Started really nicely, very fast pace, the Dodge Viper GT3 was pulling away like mad, but I caught up with it at lap 4 or so, doing 2:16 laps on racing hards. The night approached, really cool. Then the rain came and utter madness ensued.

Heaven opened its gates and in less than a full lap the track wetness-o-meter turned dark blue, my car turned into a boat. I aquaplaned in one turn and was flung into the grass, getting out of the grass was no problem but on the track I simply could not get the car to drive again! Even with the tiniest of gas input the car was just standing still doing donuts at slow-motion. I was doing donuts for like 25 seconds because I simply could not get the car going. Tried to get it going on 3rd gear but even that didn't help, it was like the front tire brakes were engaged. Eventually I got it going, but NO WAY ON EARTH IS THIS REALISTIC.

Headed for the pits, then it dawned me that I have never pitted in Spa before and I had no idea where the pit entry was.- Suddenly I was sweating bricks. The Xanavi Nissan also has very poor headlights and the windscreen was full of rain, I was cruising around at 60km/h keeping my eyes peeled for the freaking pit entry like an idiot - which I finally found. Boy, that is one hidden entry, no pit indicator, no colors, absolutely nothing. Thankfully the other cars also had massive problems and I was still in first place when I pitted.

Then I screwed up the pit exit because the car ahead of me also exiting the pits produced such a massive spray I entered the track too early earning me a 3 second penalty. :sly:

After that the rest of the race was relatively uneventful for me, except one lethal accident of course. On the main straight I tried to find the fuel mapping screen to see how many laps I still had in my tank, but then I touched the wet grass and spun out in a massive accident in Eau Rouge, other cars crashed into me - that would have been a lethal accident for sure, they hit the drivers side without braking at 250 kmh+.

When the track dried up I switched to mediums, dumb AI put on Intermediates which they shredded in a couple laps. 4 laps from the finish the GT3 Viper pitted for Racing Softs because its Intermediates were shredded. Weird thing is, just the next lap it pitted again for racing softs, it did not refuel. What the.... :boggled:
Then some other cars came in and they switched to Intermediates AGAIN despite the fact that the track was basically dry, and they did not have to refuel.

In the end I won with a lead of over one lap and - I even got the clean race bonus.

Yeah this was.....eventful.

Gold on these missions:-

The Human Comedy
  • Trial Mountain
  • Autopolis - Cappuccino (Medium RPM Turbo)
  • Kyoto Driving Park - Alfa 4C (no pit stops)

Bought the Porsche 962C & Countach LP400.

Keeping hold of 20 million credits until i see the price for the Mclaren F1 LM.

Just The Human Comedy - Deep Forest, Alsace & Redbull Ring left to get gold medals on now :)

Technically, I made this discovery yesterday, however…

For a long, long time, I’ve assumed that replacing Sport Softs with Racing Wets would increase the PP and push my car out of the allowable range.

To my surprise, it actually reduced the PP, (and made my Corvette Racer (1959) quite manageable on a flooded track).

Did the WTC800 with the Aston (completely stock, RH tires) again and it was much rougher this time. Finishes went: 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 1st (by less than .100") and 1st (by .022").

It was odd to finish P3 at Deep Forest as I am usually in P1 well before the final lap. AI was just quick.

P2 at Spa doesn't surprise me. Was right behind the BMW.

LeMans is usually pretty easy unless the Viper is let lose.

Bathurst always gives me a hard time. I passed the WRX before the back straight to take the lead but the Viper went flying passed me like I wasnt moving. I was still right behind him going through the little S turn on our way to the final left before the finish line. He covered the inside but I stick my nose in there anyway. We went side-by-side through that left with very minor contact and I beat him to the line. I can't remember the delta but it wasn't much.

N24 I messed up twice. But managed to catch the final two on the back straight of lap two. Went side by side with the Supra through that final chicane with very minor contact again, then it was a drag race to the line. I got there first by .022" even though he was catching. If the S/F line was 50' further out I'd have gotten 2nd. The BMW was right behind me as well.

One of two reasons I can think of for having a harder time than the last two attempts:

1) I was having a bad day
2) I put this pink camo livery on the car for the lolz and it made the car slower.

.022" win that I probably didn't deserve

If I'm honest, the pink camo is growing on me. :)

The AI stuck to his line because it was 100% his line.

  • Bought all of the Gr.B and Gr.3 road cars since I actually could in one sitting, unlike in GT Sport. Used the Atenza Gr.3 Road Car for the WTC600 championship and won it. 1st at the Red Bull Ring, 2nd at Suzuka, and 1st at Dragon Trail.
  • Decided to get the Peugeot 908 as well and drive it around Deep Forest for a bit. It can get squirrelly coming out of that hairpin, but it is fun there.

True, though I found it harsh that it would just ignore the fact that I was there and run me off the road/crash into me when I was already partly alongside...

I'm genuinely interested in views on this though!

Hi, Tried my new wheel, improved a couple of my license times, but only ones that did not involve braking lol
I was aweful with wheel, peddles kept slipping when I pressed brakes (on floor) plus my hand make wooded frame for holding wheel needed a bit of glue & nails
Had the same problem. Pedals are now bolted to a plank which is up against the wall so cannot slide forward when I brake. Was going to bolt the wheel frame and pedals together but feared I might break it with my over enthusiasm. It does take a little getting used to but it is worth it just for the feedback alone. Goes some way to make up for my lack of talent and my controller is deffinitely relieved.

Went to LCD bought the 962. Went to the Livery Ed and made a Derek Bell lid. Went to the showcase and borrowed a rothmans romper suit then of to lemons for a custom race. Got a 1 star ticket for my efforts. Can't be bothered to even open it. Spent the rest of the day scorching around in the 962 after detuning it to 800pp. Last race I detuned it even further to 700pp and took it back to the sarthe for the 30min race. So much fun.

I'm following a similar pattern, along with a bit of tarty livery action for each one, just to break up the grind. I've got quite a collection now - this is today's terminally understeering beasty (probably should have looked at tuning as well as painting)...
Aaaand another one...

Also did one round of the Manufacturer's cup for Nissan and came third in the GTR. Some poor soul appeared ahead of me after I pitted, obviously fuel saving, then got hit with a minute penalty at the end for not doing the mandatory stop. Unlucky! 😂

Finished the BAC Mono endurance race at Trial Mountain. I was surprised at how good and competitive the AI was...until the final lap when the two cars I was battling for first both pitted and handed me the easy win.

Things are starting to get stale...I only have the kei car race and the two Gr3 endurance races left to complete in-game. Then all I can really do is just improve to Gold on some of the more difficult missions that I've completed.

Im still waiting for lobby's to be fixed and updated.
Still waiting for new single player content.

Currently playing other games until the above happens with the exception that I am running GT7 AFK while I sleep, I need an estimated 40-60mill Credits to own all of the cars. Today I spent about 16mill in credits and now own all of the Asia cars and the Japanese cars from the Dealership.

Just waiting on the LCD to complete its first rotation and put in the F40 again and I'm done until lobbies are fixed and I can have some races with my mates

Other than Blofeld at Tokyo - see post on page 58, I think, for details - I am generally courteous to the bots. Besides, I rarely win a fight with them, so it's just less stress and strain on me and the car.

Anyhow, today was a kind of lazy Sunday. After some theology on YouTube, I dove into GT7 and picked up where I left off with tuning GT4 and 5 cars. The 300ZX is much happier as a GT4 car, and probably be pleased as punch to be a GT5. I brought out the McLaren MP4-12C and ran it around again to make sure I was happy with it, then bought the Turn14 BRZ to see if it would make a good GT4 car - it does. Might as well get shopping overwith.
  • Porsche 962C
  • Subaru Turn14 BRZ
  • Subaru GT300 BRZ
  • Fourth 300ZX and Supra 3.0 Turbo because race car!
Did the Tomahawk Chop on Blofeld - I mean V. Gallo at Tokyo for about five or six million, then got tired of it and wanted to actually compete. Rose suggested it too, so I tried to make the Turn14 into a 600PP car, but it refused to be tamed that low except with ballast, so why bother? Instead, I fiddled with the Huracan for a while and got it to perform pretty okay at 599.92 and tried Tokyo again with it. Post update, it felt a lot better, but either I kept banging the walls or the bots kept banging me into the walls. I was about to quit, but decided to try chase cam to see if I could avoid the last second impacts which kept derailing my race - and to my surprise I could clearly see how to attack every turn. So okay now, let's race! Did much better. Not one impact except when it was my fault, and no penalties. Raced way better, managed to outlast the bots and take the lead for a while, but couldn't make it past lap 10 and had to pit. Promptly passed by three of them, led by Blofeld - I mean, V. Gallo and couldn't catch any of them. Igor Fraga passed me in his Supra and we traded places for a lap before I finally kept the lead long enough to finish 4th. Rose won, good girl.
