What if Kaz decides to hold their horses with graphics, and add more features? Would you rather keep the better graphics with less features or worse graphics with more features? I would rather get more features in my opinion.

If for PS3, sticking with GT5 graphics would be fine. Actually, the models would probably be fine for PS4 because even though you can make more detailed models on PS4 there isn't much point since we won't be able to see micrometer details anyway. For PS4, just keep the same detail and instead focus on pushing more cars on track at once and stuff like that, as far as graphics go. In either instance, whether PS3 or PS4, the game needs a bunch of new features, and they can't be a cobbled, cumbersome mess.

If it doesn't have cockpits for every car, a livery editor comparable to Forza, community like Forza's Storefront so we can share stuff without friend requests, and both cosmetic and mechanical damage in A-Spec, just put the series out to pasture. Even with comparable features here, it still needs to innovate beyond that rather than simply just playing catch-up.

Graphics > Gameplay. The cars on GT5 look okay, but there still isn't enough detail in any of them. Hope PD will sort it out quickly.

GT5 premium cars look fine. GT5 "premium" tracks look fine. If everything is that level then they can spend all their time adding features for all I care. If we're still dragging around PS2 era assets in GT6 then I guess I don't care because I won't be buying it anyway.

Really? the cars in GT5 look good, not the best but when it was first released it had few to no competitiors.

If a game (especially a racing game) focuses too much on graphics and not gameplay, you could end up with a bland career mode, annoying menus, terrible AI, terrible online, etc, so basically a more terrible version of GT5.

You can have the best graphics in the business... but if your gameplay sucks it's not going to matter because nobody except people who are dazzled by shiny objects will enjoy playing it.

Are you saying you are ok with the lame career mode and that Premium cars are just ok? :dunce:

Lol...

The graphics will always be the main priority for PD, its all about the bling. Lets hope they have consistency with it.

They should decrease the number of cars on track to say 12 and use the power to improve graphics so decreasing a feature in a way. That shouldn't take long to do though. I think they will mainly concentrate on quality and number of game events and everything gameplay related in the next GT game as main goal to improve.

What do you mean decrease to 12? For the vast majority of GT5 single player 12 cars is the maxium already.
You can still do 16 driver races though, idea behind decreasing it is so that potentially GT6 could have better shadows if on PS3.

Like it does already in 12 car races? Sorry I'm not following.
They will hopefully be able to go back like GT5P a bit to get less jagged shadows rather than taking the things to the limit all designed around 16 cars and weather effects. Main point being, do whatever it takes to an extent to get the shadows less jagged.

This 👍

Gameplay is most important :sly:

They don't need to reduce the number of cars on track. They need to figure out how to compromise with the graphics.

I'm as much as a sucker for eye candy as any other gamer, but I'll sacrafice graphics for gameplay and features anyday.

IMHO, I wish PD wasn't so anal about the premiums being super detailed and just made a standard model system. It would have saved resources for other features and avoided the "standard vs. premium" bs.

the best graphics don't help me if there's no fun while playing! So more functions and features are far more important than again a better graphic. especially the cars are detailed enough for PS4 i think. not to forget that the PS4 will show us real 1080p.

If its on PS4 they probably should clean it up a bit.

I don't mean it's blurry or anything but the screen tearing and sloppy editing around tracks in places you would think we wouldn't be able to see. (Oh we see it!)

But other than that I think it'd be fine. Gran Turismo still makes me take a second and just sit and admire the start up screen every time I turn it on.

Sixteen driver races are online only, if I remember correctly. SP is twelve across the board, maybe with the exception of the four AMG Academy finals, though I'm not sure about that.

Focus would need to be on ten or so cars and more optimisation.
