I saw Initial D about 2 years ago, and I thought "hey wouldn't it be really cool if you could do this in a video game?" Then I saw Cuda's Gran Dorifto 2 and I pulled my GT3 out and started practicing ^_^

I hate to say it but... Initial D. I was into cars and racing, but at the time it was drag racing. I hated it though, the whole drag racing scene is stupid and most of the people involved are ********s. So I was hanging out at a comic shop with a friend and reading Manga and my friend recommended Initial D since I was into cars. Well the comic wasn't available here yet so I downloaded all the episodes and watched them and loved it. What more can I say? Three months later I sold my FF for an 86. NO, I didn't buy the 86 because of Initial D. It was on my list of potential cars and a good deal happened to come up so I couldn't turn it down.

Rally Racing...I watched the Rally drivers drift on Tarmac and I thought it looked awesome so I tried it with my Impreza in GT1 and it was cool, but I sucked at it...I didn't play GT2 very much...but when I got GT3 one of the first cars I got was a Lancer EVO because I wanted to drift it (even though I didn't really know it was called drifting)..I still sucked..but after seeing some drift videos and eventually, Initial D, I started using RWD cars to drift and that's when I started getting better...I still suck though :D

this one video called " Rally Kids " with some black AE86 going around some tropical small circuit. got more into it and heard of GT3 then saw Cudaman's vid, then some old Option videos. it's still going!

I personally drift my spec car locally, so of course I started right up with the driftin' in GT3 its only right to do so. I have a 1982 BMW 528E race spec tube chassis and more mods...

mainy intial d inspired me. I wasn't into that whole racing trend but my friends did and when I got into drifting they got all jelouse that I can drift better then them:lol: I say to them stick with your racer trend

very true hehe.

Anyways, for me drifting all started when i was a kid in LA living near little Tokyo. I had lots of japanese friends (and still do =P ) and there older brothers were into Option magazines and videos. I started watching them too and i got so crazed about it. My cousins taught me stick in 6th grade and did my first donut in 7th grade, which scared the crap outta me lol. My ultimate dream in life is to live in Japan and compete in D1...wow i got a long way to go there.

The video of the Veltex Altezza was the first drift video I watched. I have a video of a black 180SX sponsored by Falken Tires that is my true inspiration. As soon as I get back from US Air Force basic training, I'm going to purchase a KA-powered 240SX, and eventually swap the entire front clip with that of an S13.

It's hard to express drifting in a Civic LX. So really the in-game drifting feeds the craving right now.

Drifting is sloooooooooowly being recognized in my state. Look at my signature to see what I mean.

hey, good luck in Basic Training and in the Air Force....I actually have similar plans for a 240sx hatchback with blacktop s13 engine. I plan on selling my Accord and buying a 4wd pickup truck so I'll have something to drive in the winter, then comes the 240sx as a project car.

I always loved watching the D1 gran prix clips and options videos. I knew there had to be a way to drift in GT3. I watch gran dorifto and opposite lock and practiced a bunch:D

for me i was one night my friend took me out in his WRX and started drifting i was like amazed,,, after that i was downloading videos and intial d like crazy ... that was 2 years ago

2 years ago, I saw Initial D. Yes, it was Initial D that did the inspiration. I tried GT3 drifting, and sucked, but was better than the rest of my friends. I stopped trying because I just didn't know how anymore. Couldn't learn that way (trial and error), plus I finished the game and moved on. Then I saw CudaMan's video, just a few weeks ago (dang he must be loving all this praise); it was by accident because I didn't expect to find drifting videos for GT3--I was looking for the GT4 E3 video. Tried some more drifting. Got a few settings from Gamefaqs. Found out those settings came from people here at GTP, and joined this discussion board to learn some more. Plus, it was a game I needed to revive anyway. Collecting too much dust before.

buncha videos i got from kazaa, especially that one JUN Supra doin the BIG drift, but then i watched Cudas vids, and i was like "u can do that in GT3?!?!?!" so i finally started practicein and here i am now

Do you mean the yellow supra that did the massive burnout when drifting? That thing had some crazy oversteer in the beggining of the video if thats the video you are talking about:D

Daytona USA...
and the childish idea that a car can go fastest thru a turn if it's facing the straight AFTER the turn...lol, not sure what implanted that in my head...that was about 6-7 years ago...

o yes, daytona, i did my 1st "drift" on that game by randomly steppin on teh peddles, then i figred out if u hit the break hard and accel it goes sideways a bit....what an epifini

when i first got GT3 and notcied it happening to me then i found GTP looking for prize car list and found this board.

.....and cuda's vids. :D
