This is starting to become a daily occurance:
Right dude.... and they usually have 2 post....
Honestly guys... dont take this the wrong way... but i think ALL the tuning bibles and what not are just a waste of time... no offense... their great ideas with a lot of great advice.. but nobody they were designed for is actually going to read them lol... they are just going to start new threads asking for what they want....and when they get it.. they wont say "thanks" or anything. Then suddenly... they are the fastest s.o.b. in the game... until someone beats them... then they will ask for their tune.
Ive helped out a lot of people.... 2 of them i regret saying a word to because they took what i told them a called it their own... and it makes me sick. I have spent countless hours... seen 6am and had to work at 9 to many times to count... and you just expect me to hand my 🤬 over to you because you dont like to lose? I actually enjoy losing a race... because it motivates me and lets me know there is more work to be done. Its that push forward that makes drag racing fun.
Just imagine.... Joey Lagano is 2 seconds of the pace at Daytona... so he walks up to Jimmy Johnson who qualified on the pole with a pen and a piece of paper, sits down, clicks his pen, then stares him directly in the eye and ask for his tune. Jimmy...
A) ... (flabbergasted and holding back laughter)... proceeds to tell him to get f:censored:ed.
B) ....tells Joey that he has hes running his spring rate a little lower in the front because it helps get rid of the push. He dosent give Joey anything concrete... but he helps him get back on pace. Joey tells him thanks for the help and walks away... getting a top 10 finish. (The way it should be.)
C) .....tells him everything. Spring rate... camber... tire pressure and so on tell he pretty well gave away all his teams hard work. Then, without saying a word, Joey gets up, closes his notebook, and walks away without a word. He wins that race... but because he didnt learn why this works and that didnt... he goes on to be fail because he didnt learn anything. (Dont be this guy)
Now... nobody has to tell you anything. You should be so lucky that people have put even base tunes up here. I never had one... i learned everything by racing and losing... then tuning, racing and losing again but by less. Progress...baby steps... your not going to make one adjustment a be the fastest. I will never say i didnt have help, but i never asked anyone for a thing. I got told "add toe angle" or "try leaving in this gear." But most of my strides came from tuning, all alone, against my ghost at indy. Trying everything... figuring out how, and more importantly why, what i did effected my tune. Somebody can spoon feed you a tune.. and it may be fast.. but as the old adage goes, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime." Learn to fish buddy... you will be a lot better off.
End rant.
