What is so special about the Kindle Fire?

I have seen so much hype for the Kindle Fire, Almost as much as the ipad. I am very suprised why everyone is so interested in it? I mean yeas it's relatively cheap at $199 but still. I mean many Android tablet producers have been trying to steal the ipad's thunder and none of them seem to have succeeded, but then this tablet (the OS is based off of android by the way) comes along and everyone is so amazed. Is there anything special about the Kindle Fire? I would rather have a real Android tablet, Does the Kindle Fire give the full Android experience?

The price to start with is a huge selling point. Then it is built on Android, so a large market of apps will be there for it. And the specs are solid.
