Best car? For what?

The best car can be anything from the F2007 right through everything to the Suzuki Swift depending on what you want your car to do.

Based on the way you ask the question, I assume you're just starting. Get the Honda Integra Type R.

if you're starting, I'd go for the RX8. But if you're looking for the fastest throughout the whole game, it would have to be the Suzuki Cervo Ferrari F2007

 Nice one.👍 I agree with you though. I started with the RX8, great car, great car. I haven't driven it since I don't think....

First car: Integra Type R is most recommended for starting with.

Other then that, there's to many driving styles and skill levels to define a best overall car probably.

Bah, can't call yourself an automotive enthusiast until you've owned an Alfa Romeo, get a 147.:P:tup::D

Bah - the 147 is too slow and FWD, and the Brera is too fat. Never seen what the fuss is all about with Alfa. Gimme the Focus ST anyday.

The 147 is full of character and handles well, the Brera is beautiful, I'm sick of the complaints about the Brera being fat- yes it's heavy, get over it.:P

Big Is BEAUTIFUL!!!

BRB, off to find some pictures of fat women for Paulie... :D

Besides "character" is just another way of saying "I'd like to offer some excuse for this car not being fast enough but I can't think of anything except its being Italian".

What can a Brera do better than a Ford GT anyway? :)

No see I went over this before - its the Ford GT.

Lets go over a checklist of what the best car needs shall we?

V8? Check
Real Manual? Check
Sexy Shape? Check
Racing Stripes? Check
200MPH? Check
Mid-Engined? Check
Speedholes Everywhere? Check
Supercharger? Check

So it is unarguable then. The Ford GT is the best car, not only in the game, but in the world. Not since the invention of the horse in 1374 by a Mongolian named Graham has transportation seen a such revolutionary leap forward. Millenia from now, when aliens discover the fossilized remains of our once-great but extinct civilisation, they will marvel at its form and wonder at its function.

Bah to both of you. My tricycle was front wheel drive. You want to race? you got to get the classic RWD layout.
Mad - you should get back into it! It's great for getting back to your roots and have a real challenge with some faster cars. It's a well balanced machine and caught me by suprise on the straights - it actaully has some go. Don't ever try drifting it untill you reack 7000 rpm.

V8? Check<----leave that oversized paperweight at home. gimme a 4 or 6cyl with a twin turbo ;)

Real Manual? Check<---manual yes...rwd only, no

Sexy Shape? Check
Racing Stripes? Chec<----oh she GOTS to be sexy :)
k
200MPH? Check<----and she gotta be oh so fast!

Mid-Engined? Check<---here i disagree. a great car is a great car regardless of engine placement.

Speedholes Everywhere? Check<---"whatch doin there, homer?" "puttin speedholes in my car, flanders."

Supercharger? Check<---ugh. twin turbo. no lag, more power, more top end, more speed. look around, there's even some sick ass TT GT's out there

fixed ;)

Paulie, I drove that car in MNR one night at DR and it was the WORST car i've ever driven on GT5P. I thought it was terrible. But I must admit, I don't really enjoy the RX8 with a steering wheel. But it did feel good with a sixaxis.👍

no no no no nooooo. I did a hot hatch test (for fun, not to do a write up) where I was looking for fun factor and I went from slowest to fastest. The Suzuki cervo was never going to be a good contender, but I thought the Suzuki Swift would be. I thought it would lack power but gain grip - I was wrong - it was horrible everywhere. The next step up was the 147 and that felt sooooo good after being stuck with a cervo and a swift for 5 laps each. You just have to change the perspective of things

(ps, the outcome was a tie with the cooper s and the Teggy type R for 1st place, with the C4 coming second).

In response to the vote for Ford GT, the GT is fast yes, but lacks the grace of say the F430. Which leads me on to my finalised thoughts of the best cars to get in GT5P.

(surprise!) The Ferrari F430 offers great balance, noise, plenty of power, easy to control and of course its fast all around, corners and straights.

Nissan GTR, I know I know you've probably all heard enough about the GTR but the fact is bang for buck it's hard to beat. The performance considering the weight and size is mind blowing and it's easy to drive at the limit bar it's frisky brakes.

My previous recommendation the Integra Type R, easy to drive, fast, and a great first car. Simples :)

GTLM, out of all the high class cars, although most are quite equal under the various PP restrictions, one is more equal. The LM is outrageously fast, great traction out of the bends, however it is a handful without a good set up, using a harder front tyre can make it alot easier to handle.

The above cars aren't my favourite cars by any mean, but overall they are all a good purchase for the game.

Wow I always thought God made Horses. Now I know better!!!!

The "best" car for the tracks we have available and taking into consideration: looks, sounds, handling, speed, competitiveness, fun and experience. I'd have to say:
Ferrari F2007

But for specifically any of those considerations, there are different cars that tailor to each. For example, if you're just after looks then probably the Art Morrison Corvette is a good choice. But if you're after competitiveness, then a GT-R wouldn't be far wrong or an Elise/Tuned or Clio/Tuned.

Honda Integra
Ferrari F430
Nissan GT-R

These will get you through anything. Of course you will also need a Cappuccino, M3, and a Japanese 300hp car. For the Japanese 300HP I would recommend the Nissan.

For all races where you can use the Honda, use it.
It really is the class of the field.

For London use the Nissan GT-R.

My tip on the Ferrari F430 is get a wheel and brake and throttle at the same time. Sounds odd but it makes the car smooth especially at the HSR.

The best car for you would be anyone that you can tune or drive. One that doesn't understeer or oversteer to much for you. You only know your driving skills. You might have a heavy foot? or finger? lol. But it's the one you can drive most comfortably. I like to adapt to all cars I drive, since this is a driving simulator, it gives me insight on how these car could possibly in real life, I was most impressed by the 135i (bimmer fan here). Great handling, the power of a toned down i6 t.t. I've tuned it, but the car is on the light side with too much power becoming an issue.
Like I said the best car is the car you can win in, which would mean you are driving it properly.

Honda Integra
Ferrari F430
Nissan GT-R

The exact 3 cars I chose. They're definately overall 3 of the must have cars, the Integra as it is probably the fastest FWD in the game, the F430 as it's just a fantastic car and everyone has to see what all the fuss is about and purchase the GTR (arguable the fastest AWD bar the Mines).
