What no one mentions,car settup

I have noticed that no one talks about car setup (suspension,trans gear ratios,brakes,etc.these are all factors that enable you to drive a car and win. It has taken me over 5yrs. of experimenting with different setups on all cars to get the handling and braking right to have cars that consistantly win without bouncing off of everything in site.I have played the entire game(GT4) I doubt very many can say that.
