Yuk  I really DON'T want to see her drive it, hmmm...let's see; I'm turbomom; I'm gonna spend my husbands hard-earned cash on ****(e) like this.

my father has a similar van... the engine from the Prelude fits perfectly... Mmmm... a Prelude engine, and the sportshift tranny, with a turbo and a few other things... ultimate sleeper!

That's absolutely rediculous! Crap like that makes me remember a favorite quote of mine, "All ricer's should be shot on the spot."

A T04 Turbo, and Nitrous Oxide, and she can only get the thing to run a 16.20? That is so freakin' pathetic!

She has Yokohoma AVS Sport tires, yet Nitto is still one of her sponsors, along with Yokohoma?

the women is 54 year old, according to the article... wonder why she's driving those 16.2 timeslips...

Maybe it's a typo...maybe it should be 12.6, not 16.2...?

That would seem to make more sense. Hell, you could probably run 17s in it stock.

understatement of the century

i must say i went beyond it a bit , no idea you were only 15 sorry about the misunderstanding , and yeah it may well be the understatement????

Ive seen a Dodge Caravan run 10's in the 1/4 beating many that get next to it. I think its turbo and Ive got a video of it at home. Hes stomping a Camaro or Firebird in the video and at the end, it shows a 10.28 trap speed. :D
Any platform can be made fast, just depends on the driver to attain that speed..
Oh, in the video, you dont even hear the exhaust on the caravan, just the whine of the turbo spooling and kicking booty.
Just my .02.

About the same noise as my car, so I'm told.

Had to embarass a guy in an IROC the other night. Did a AWD burnout right next to his car. :D

He said all he heard was the whine of the turbo and the howl of the intake.

Sleeper.
Dont know what you drive, but you gotta love it when you mess up the other guys day with a sleeper.
All the ricers believe that loud exhaust ='s speed, hahahaha, not so.
Just a few of the sounds off of the blow off valve is enough to hinder any attempt to race. :D

Oh, and the problem with BOVs is that when at a stop, the wastegate doesn't allow any boost buildup. Therefore, you can't get the BOV to dump - no boost.

This is at least true on my car. I suppose it'd be possible to modify the wastegate to change this, though.

Ill link you onto my site for sure. Youve got a nice site and a very enviable ride. :D :)
Any plans for the upgraded intercooler and turbo??
Ive also heard the factory exhaust is one of the limiting factors in speed for your car, check out Sport compact car for their November issue I believe. I remember an issue in which they are doing a project wrx.

Yeah, I know where the limitations are. My plans for upgrades are less aggressive than some. I'm planning a manual boost controller for autox and drag racing as soon as the weather warms up.

A new exhaust is definately in the works, but I'm having troubles nailing down the exact type I want (not to mention the cash).

An upgraded turbo would be nice - we'll see about that when the warranty is up. :) The intercooler is extremely efficient for a stock model and upgrading it is unnecessary for most people's modding plans. It's not like intercoolers you see on Volvo's and the like. It's probably (off the top of my head) 16" wide and 6" tall. I know someone who is running 400hp out of his WRX and still uses the stock intercooler. During dyno runs, they recorded the intake temperature - it never went over 150 degrees.

You really know your stuff on the car.
Well, this is turning out to be a kind of chat, if you know what I mean. :D
Good luck with your modding and I know what you mean about the money problems.

Oh, one more thing, where in the country you from, just for my curiousity. Lastly, have and are you going to do anything for the suspension for autocrossing and what division you entering in?
Ive always wanted to autocross, just afraid of the wear and tear on the suspension and tires. Besides, with all the suspension mods to the z24, my class will be with the Rx7's, Supras etc and I know I cant compete with this class.
Oh well.
Ill one day break down and do it just to get a good feel of the car under extreme conditions.

I'm from the Mid West.

Right now, I'm in Novice D (I think) SoloII. I went to one event last year and absolutely loved it. (Won my class too! w00t!)

As far as suspension mods, I'm looking at a set of Whiteline springs that should stiffen her up a bit. Other than that, the stock sway bars do really well.

Yep...;)

The only time I've heard of building boost from a stop is with an auto(duh), or with a 2-step rev limiter. I don't know exactly what it does, but they make 'em for Supra's, and sell 'em at suprastore.com. I think it allows the 6spd MKIV Supra's to build like 6psi from a stop...

That'd be sweet, but it'd be hell on my clutch. :) With a good slip, I can boost about 8-10 pounds pretty quickly from a start. Then, it's just a split second until we hit 15+ and all the fun begins...:)

Here's a link to it if you wanna read more about it and how it works...:)

I don't think it wears on the clutch at all after reading about it, but I'm not real positive...

Anyways, just thought I'd take a sec to remind you I love your WRX!:P AWD Turbo's are so sweet!!!:D
