Buying your first car is a memorable point in any ones life, I think no matter how rubbish the car is you still cherish it because its yours. Here's mine

Yeah no kidding a BMW as your first car. Nice! I wasnt so lucky. lol

My first vehicle was was a 2wd 1967 Chevy Truck with the long box. My dad gave it to me for my 16th birthday. :) I painted it primer black. It had a mild rebuild 350, 350 3speed auto trans with something like 4.56 gears and a detroit locker. I put on a brand new 4 barrel Edelbrock intake, carb, valve covers, and headers. Engine looked very clean. Because of the gearing and the auto 3 speed trans the max speed was only about 110 mph. I never took it to a dragstrip but I would estimate it would run somehwere in the high 13 second range. Not too bad for a truck especially since I was only 16.

Not my truck (google image) but it was primer black and looked similar to this.

The first car I bought on my own was this 2004 Honda Civic Sedan EX, but with the stock spoiler, manual transmission, splash guards, moon roof and moon roof visor (same rims tho!):

I miss driving stick, my '06 civic hybrid gets great mileage (right at 44mpg usually vs 38mpg on a good day in the '04), but lacks in performance and has really wide side windshield bars (the ones that separate the front and side windows), makes for interesting blind spots sometimes : /

2003 Honda Accord 4 cyl 2.0

Was a very good first car, never gave me any trouble at all. It was easy to drive light on its feet and over felt solid.

This was my first car, she was just like my real first girlfriend. I found her but had money to do anything with her...haha

When I was 15, this is what I thought an older model 'Lincoln' looked like

It was 1997, and the car was a black 1994 Golf GTI (MKIII).

I remember spending all my trainee job money on it for several months, so it looked and felt brand new after some work.

Boy did i have fun that year. Good times. And great thread btw.

A guy brought a 67 Pontiac GTO into my fathers garage with blown piston. Dad replaced 2 pistons and rebuilt the engine for $800. The car sat in my dads garage for over a year since the man could not pay the bill. I took a liking to the car so dad gave the man $200 for the car and ate the shop bill and gave it to me....I was 15. For the next couple years me and dad would take it out about once a month to "blow the cobwebs out". I worked and saved enough money to buy some Cragar rims and a $600 paint job..And I drove it when I was of age....You couldnt tell me nothin.....

Drove it for about 15 years off and on. Replace the engine twice because of a heavy right foot...Got divorced and sold it...:(

My first car was this '93 Corolla I bought off a "friends friend". It had been crashed on it's roof in a ditch so I got it practically for free..

Fixed it and painted it myself and drove it a couple years before I got my MKIV Golf. I liked the little Corolla very much! Still have it in my dad's barn if I decide to start a little project one day... ;) 4AGE stripped racer maybe :D

I was supposed to lower it and do this and do that but never did any of those things in the end! :P
